Tesla CEO Elon Musk is famously prone to exaggeration, but he wasn’t kidding when he said that the company’s next-gen Roadster “will be the fastest production car ever made.” Originally introduced back in 2017, Tesla’s forthcoming Roadster — which features a brand new design and absolutely jaw-dropping specs — is currently scheduled to arrive sometime in 2020. Tesla, of course, has an unfortunate history of missing production schedules so it remains to be seen when deliveries of the next-gen Roadster will actually begin.

That aside, there’s no denying that the Roadster 2.0 is an absolute marvel of engineering with respect to overall power and acceleration. Specifically, the car boasts a 0-60 MPH time of 1.9 seconds, making it faster than a good number of supercars. Now that the release date of Samsung’s Galaxy Fold has been pushed back indefinitely, the stage has been cleared for another Android phone maker to steal the spotlight this spring. OnePlus might end up being the beneficiary, as the announcement of its next big launch event is taking place this Tuesday. In the lead-up to the announcement, OnePlus sat down with The Verge to discuss (in rather vague terms) what the OnePlus 7 family will look like.

The one part of the OnePlus 7 that CEO Pete Lau was most enthusiastic to discuss was the “super-smooth and very crisp” display. According to Lau, OnePlus spent three times as much developing this display as it has the displays on previous models. “The first time I saw it myself,” he told The Verge, “I was stunned.”

Samsung today officially acknowledged its intention to delay the launch of its highly-anticipated Galaxy Fold smartphone. The news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given that a number of early review units handed out to prominent tech publications suffered from broken displays, a turn of events that can appropriately be categorized as an unabashed PR disaster.

The Galaxy Fold is undoubtedly an ambitious device, and while it’s always exciting to see companies take measures to raise the bar for innovation higher, it’s hard to see the Galaxy Fold, at this point, as anything more than a prototype that was poised for release well before it was ready for prime time.

It seems increasingly unlikely that Apple will enter the 5G era in 2019, but the pieces are beginning to fall into place for the company to take advantage of the technology in the near future. In a new research note, the incredibly prolific analyst Ming-Chi Kuo forecasts that Apple’s 2020 iPhone models will be the first to support 5G.

In order for Apple’s 5G ambitions to be realized, it will need to acquire 5G modems. That’s where Qualcomm comes into play. If you have been keeping up with the news in recent weeks, you probably heard about Apple and Qualcomm surprisingly settling their patent dispute. The settlement included a license and chipset supply agreement, which Kuo believes will result in Qualcomm becoming a primary supplier of 5G modems for the iPhone.
