NASA astronaut captures breathtaking time-lapse of Earth from space

Here on Earth, we see the Sun rise and set once in any given 24-hour period. If you want to see the sunrise or sunset you need to set your watch so you don’t miss it, or you’ll be left waiting another day for the opportunity. Things are a whole lot different on the International Space Station.

Travelers spending time aboard the orbiting laboratory don’t just have to deal with the lack of gravity and somewhat cramped quarters, they also have to wrestle with the fact that normal “days” don’t really exist when you’re speeding around the Earth over a dozen times per day. Astronaut Nick Hague, who is currently on board the ISS, decided to use that to his advantage and filmed a gorgeous time-lapse of Earth from the eyes of an ISS resident.

Everything new coming to Netflix this week, and everything leaving (week of June 2)

%name Everything new coming to Netflix this week, and everything leaving (week of June 2) by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Another busy week for Netflix has begun, as the fifth season of Black Mirror is set to hit the streaming service this Wednesday. Unlike seasons 3 and 4, Black Mirror season 5 will have just three episodes, as did the first two seasons. We’re also getting new seasons of 3% as well as the show Designated Survivor, which Netflix picked up for a third season after ABC decided not to continue producing the show following season 2.

Unfortunately, we’re also losing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (surprise, yet another Disney movie) and District 9, so be sure to add both to your queue and watch these sci-fi hits before they vanish for good.

This $90 stand mixer on Amazon is just as good as a $300 KitchenAid mixer

%name This $90 stand mixer on Amazon is just as good as a $300 KitchenAid mixer by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

KitchenAid stand mixers are great, don’t get us wrong. They do a fine job and they’re well-built, so they last a long time. If we’re being honest, though, everything good about a KitchenAid can also be said about other popular stand mixers, but rival models often cost far less than the pricey KitchenAid mixers that have become so trendy. If you’re looking for a good alternative, definitely check out the Hamilton Beach 63390 Stand Mixer. It’s well-made, it’s well-built, and it costs a fraction of what you would pay for a comparable KitchenAid mixer.

Hamilton Beach 63390 Stand Mixer: $89.99

Here are the bullet points from the product page:

  • Same mixing action as Kitchen Aid stand mixers
  • Powerful 300 Watt motor
  • Mixing action gives complete bowl coverage
  • Better mixing than 2-beater stand mixers
  • 3 attachments offer mixing versatility

Here’s a state-by-state look at the fastest mobile network speeds in the US

%name Here’s a state by state look at the fastest mobile network speeds in the US by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Opensignal has released a new report today about mobile network speeds in the US, offering an overview of how smartphone download speeds haven’t improved all that much from this time last year. The report goes into greater detail about that, in addition to ranking each state and the top 50 US cities with the fastest speeds.

Among the key findings of the report, tech hub cities surprisingly don’t excel when compared to the 50 largest cities. For example, San Francisco, Seattle, and Austin are all ranked in the bottom half of that list of 50 when measuring download and upload speeds, plus overall video experience.

7 new movie trailers from this week: Onward, The Kitchen, The Lion King, and more

%name 7 new movie trailers from this week: Onward, The Kitchen, The Lion King, and more by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

It’s going to be an interesting battle at the box office this week, as Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Rocketman will both premiere. The former certainly looks like the favorite to win the weekend, and possibly challenge Aladdin‘s spot, as Rocketman has hardly received the same pre-release hype as Bohemian Rhapsody did last year.

On top of that, there’s quite a collection of new films still playing, including the Disney’s Aladdin remake and Avengers: Endgame. Also, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is still a great film to consider seeing in theaters, as is Pokemon Detective Pikachu. When it comes to new trailers this week, we have the first clip for the (last??) Rambo film, as well as the first trailer for Pixar’s brand new animated adventure.

It has been a while now since I stopped using my AirPods. They’re so great in concept, but the execution is off. Because the tips are smooth plastic, much of the sound — and most of the bass — leaks out of your ears instead of being locked in. If you want a pair of cord-free earbuds that address Apple’s design mistake by using silicone tips that lock in all that bass, check out the SoundPEATS TrueFree True Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds. They’re only $28.49 on Amazon after you clip the 5% coupon, and they sound great.

SoundPEATS True Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds in-Ear Stereo Bluetooth Headphones Wireless Earphone…: $28.49

Here’s more from the product page:

  • [TWS & BLUETOOTH 5.0] – Adopt global professional Realtek chipset, true wireless design with latest Bluetooth 5.0, the SoundPEATS TrueFree wireless earbuds own fast and stable transmission without tangling.
  • [SINGLE & COUPLE] – Support working together to enjoy stereo sound, or using one earbud only for preference or driving safety. Different from the previous version or other brand, the TrueFree wireless earbuds provide HiFi stereo sound at both music and phone calls.
  • [ONE-STEP PAIRING] – Born to offer you every convenience, the earbuds are built with very easy operation. Pull out the earbuds from charging case and hit on Bluetooth list. That’s how easily you get the earbuds paired.
  • [EXTENDED PLAYTIME] – Compact and lightweight magnetic charging case for you to carry the earbuds around. 3.5 hours playtime per charge and 15 hours in total, the earbuds strive to keep you company longer.

Relax: Most of your favorite Netflix shows aren’t going anywhere for a while

%name Relax: Most of your favorite Netflix shows aren’t going anywhere for a while by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The streaming wars — and in particular the launch of new Netflix rivals from companies like Apple, Disney, and AT&T — have led to plenty of speculation about what will happen to Netflix as it starts to face more well-heeled competition than ever.

Especially as the streaming landscape increasingly fractures, and companies like AT&T, via its new WarnerMedia service, pull their original content off of Netflix to host it on their own platforms, meaning Netflix presumably will soon have a giant hole where lots of third-party TV shows used to be.
