The Galaxy Note 10 series launches in less than two weeks, with Samsung, expected to kick off preorders soon after its Unpacked event is over. The phone will come in two different sizes, and that’s hardly a secret at this point. But each of them should also be available in 4G and 5G versions, meaning that you might have up to four Note 10 models at your disposal. A brand new leak tells us that the Note 10+ 5G is going to be available for preorder from Verizon.

Before and after pictures of everything Samsung fixed on the Galaxy Fold

Samsung surprised the world on Wednesday with a Galaxy Fold press release announcing the foldable phone’s new launch window. The handset is coming in September, complete with several fixes that should make it more durable than the first version. That doesn’t mean you’ll be able to see all the changes that Samsung made. Not only are they subtle design modifications, but you have nothing to compare them with. This is, after all, the first Galaxy Fold that will hit stores, assuming nothing happens until September to detail Samsung’s plans again. That said, we can show you the differences between the broken and fixed Galaxy Fold versions with the help of press photos of the two Fold variations.

The Galaxy Note 10 leaks have been trickling out practically nonstop in advance of the August 7th press conference in New York City during which the Note 10 will be unveiled, and at this point, we’ve got a near-comprehensive idea already about what Samsung’s next flagship will look like and consist of. But that doesn’t mean the fresh details aren’t still coming in, and this time we’ve got one straight from Samsung itself — or, more specifically, from a trademark application Samsung filed this week.

New bandage technology reduces scarring thanks to the power of nature

%name New bandage technology reduces scarring thanks to the power of nature by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When you get a small cut or scrape you probably reach for an ordinary bandage, which is typically nothing more than an adhesive strip holding a tiny patch of sterile padding. It’s a simple design that has stood the test of time, but researchers from Harvard’s Wyss Institute think they’ve come up with something even better.

The researchers took a cue from nature, designing a new kind of wound covering that not only speeds up the healing process but can actually reduce scarring as well. Inspired by the fragile skin of animal embryos which can heal itself without leftover scars, the new dressing is impressively high-tech but also incredibly simple to use.

Wednesday morning saw a swirl of news reports quickly multiply all noting that the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie — which was already delayed from November to February after garnering derision from fans — seemed to have been delayed yet again. This time from February to March.

The evidence for a second delay? The bio attached to the official Twitter account for the movie said so: “Speeding into theatres March 2020” is what it said as recently as Wednesday morning. And then news reports started reporting the apparent delay.

We still don’t have an exact date for when Samsung will launch its delayed, problem-plagued $2,000 foldable smartphone — but we do know, finally, that Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy Fold in September, more than four months after its scuttled April release date. That’s according to a Wednesday announcement from the company, which added that myriad “improvements” have been successfully finished ahead of a release of the handset a little more than a month from now.

RED is making a sequel to its Hydrogen One smartphone and we have no idea why

%name RED is making a sequel to its Hydrogen One smartphone and we have no idea why by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

If ever there was a phone that could have revolutionized the smartphone business in the post-iPhone era, it’s the Hydrogen One. Made by high-tech camera company RED, the Hydrogen One turned out to be a huge disappointment. It was a niche phone that targeted a specific group of people: buyers who wouldn’t mind paying a ton of money for dated hardware powering a unique feature that also happens to be gimmicky and useless. Needless to say, it’s a pretty small niche.

With all that in mind, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the first-generation model wasn’t very popular. And yet here we are today with news that RED is making a Hydrogen Two phone that’s supposed to be even better.

Harvard research suggests millions of people are wasting their time taking aspirin

%name Harvard research suggests millions of people are wasting their time taking aspirin by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

If you’ve been taking aspirin every day to lower your risk of heart attack, despite not having an existing history of heart problems, a new Harvard study suggests you’re not doing yourself any favors. In fact, it would seem that millions of people regularly taking low-dose aspirin without being advised to do so by a doctor are relying on antiquated advice.

Many doctors recommend a daily aspirin regimen for patients with a prior history of heart attack or stroke, or a significantly increased risk for those conditions. However, millions of perfectly healthy people, especially older adults, take aspirin daily because they believe it will decrease their risk of developing health problems in the future. That myth has since been debunked, but not everyone has gotten the message.

Netflix costs as much as $16 per month – guess how much more people are willing to spend on streaming

%name Netflix costs as much as $16 per month – guess how much more people are willing to spend on streaming by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Netflix has apparently done a good job of training people to expect to pay only rock-bottom prices for a streaming video subscription service. A new poll finds that most people think all the streaming services they pay for — from Hulu to Netflix, Amazon, HBO, Disney+ and Apple TV+ — should cost a combined $21 or so, at most.

That’s the takeaway from a new Hollywood Reporter/Morning Consult poll which finds that $21 is the optimal sweet spot within customers’ range of price expectations (between $17 and $27) that they have for their streaming subscriptions in aggregate. With the low end being “too good to be true” and obviously the high end representing the “too expensive” side of the range.

Watch scientists endure the intense shaking of a Marsquake simulation

Humans have never set foot on Mars, but that’s not stopping scientists from doing their best to understand what it might be like when that day eventually comes. Researchers using data from NASA’s InSight lander are taking that idea to the extreme by testing what a particularly intense Marsquake might feel like using a special room-scale simulator.

As NASA details in a new blog post, the so-called “shake room” allows scientists to feel an ultra-amplified version of the shaking detected by the InSight lander’s seismometer, and it definitely looks intense.
