iOS 8 seems to be more packed with new features than any new iOS version in recent memory and it would be easy to overlook a lot of the ones that Apple didn’t explicitly mention at WWDC last week. The LG G3 flagship handset is yet to hit most markets including the U.S., but new reports already detail an even better G3 version than the one unveiled a few weeks ago. According to South Korean publication Naver, a G3 model with a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and a faster MDM9635 modem that would allow theoretical download speeds of up to 225Mbps will launch in July.

Verizon lobbyists are apparently on the prowl on Capitol Hill with new anti-net neutrality arguments, Mother Jones has learned, telling congressional staffers that Verizon needs to offer fast lane-like Internet access in order to meet the needs of blind, deaf and disabled customers whose lives may depend on fast access to Internet-connected medical services.

Apple’s interest in sapphire glass is no longer a secret even if the company is not willing to talk very much about its partnership with GT Advanced Technologies. While many reports have suggested the upcoming iPhone 6 and iWatch will pack sapphire displays, a new report published on Seeking Alpha now claims that Apple has what it takes to sustain 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch massive iPhone 6 launches, with enough left over to cover the iWatch when it launches later this year.

Apple Stores are known for their sleek, minimalist design, but the latest Tokyo retail location might be the best looking store Apple has ever built. The Verge reports that new store opened in the Omotesando shopping district on Friday, positioned alongside other high-end retailers such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Apple’s recently hired retail VP Angela Ahrendts, former CEO of Burberry, was in attendance to celebrate the grand opening.

Amazon quietly took the wraps off of its new streaming music service earlier this week, and the reception thus far has been mixed. Some see Prime Music as a nice value-add for Amazon Prime users who now have yet another unlimited digital service to enjoy for their annual $99 subscription. Google hates it when you say this, but Google Glass has a major image problem. People using the headset are routinely thrown out of public places including movie theaters and cafes, and the most common question many Glass users get asked by non-Glass wearers is whether they’re secretly filming everyone. The world just recently got its first glimpse at Apple’s next-generation iOS 8 mobile software, and we took an in-depth look at iOS 8 earlier this week. As great as all the new features look, there are still dozens of iOS 7.1 features you don’t know about.
