Apple’s iPhone SE hit stores today, but the company’s latest 4-inch iPhone may not be enough to help offset an overall decline in iPhone sales. According to a report from Digitimes, iPhone 6s and 6s Plus demand is far lower than demand for Apple’s iPhone 6 models last year. Citing sources from within Apple’s supply chain, the report adds that “shipments for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus for the second quarter of 2016 will likely be halved from those shipped in the first quarter.”

Even Google views its Nest acquisition as a disappointment

When Google in early 2014 generously opened up its wallet and forked over $3.2 billion in cash for Nest Labs, it ostensibly appeared to be a brilliant, albeit expensive, acquisition. At the time, Nest was riding high on the popularity of its Nest thermostat and the Nest Protect smoke alarm. With two hit products right out of the gate, the future of Nest looked remarkably bright.

Forget iPhone encryption, the FBI can’t legally touch the software ISIS uses

%name Forget iPhone encryption, the FBI can’t legally touch the software ISIS uses by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The FBI insists that encrypted products like the iPhone and encrypted online services will put people in harm’s way, especially in light of the ISIS-connected San Bernardino shooting late last year. That’s why the Bureau has been arguing for encryption backdoors that would be available to law enforcement agencies, and why it looked to coerce Apple to add a backdoor to iOS.

However, extensive reports that show the preparations ISIS made before hitting Paris and Brussels revealed the kind of encrypted products ISIS radicals used to stay in touch with central command. Unsurprisingly, these products are out of the FBI’s jurisdiction, and one in particular was one of the safest encrypted communication products you can find online. In fact, its original developers are suspected to have ties to the criminal underworld.

Report details new tech Apple is using to make the iPhone 7 thinner and lighter

%name Report details new tech Apple is using to make the iPhone 7 thinner and lighter by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

If you ask current iPhone owners for a list of features they’d like to see Apple incorporate into the iPhone 7, a thinner and lighter form factor would likely appear somewhere near the bottom, if at all. Indeed, most respondents would likely ask for improved battery life, or more storage, or even a better camera. But because Jony Ive is reportedly obsessed with increasingly thinner devices, the iPhone 7 by all accounts will shave a few millimeters off of what is already an incredibly thin iPhone 6s.

Now if we put aside well-placed grievances regarding Apple’s obsession with thinness over other utilitarian considerations, it’s rather impressive that Apple can continue to make successive iPhone models thinner while concurrently making them faster and equipping them with more advanced camera modules. And all the while, battery life practically remains the same.

Landing a big role very early in your acting career is the exception to rule. For most actors — even the biggest superstars on the planet — it has taken years of hard work for them to make a name for themselves. And along the way, they’ve all taken minor roles here and there to make ends meet and hone their craft. Of course, it’s always fun to look back on those roles now that they’re big superstars, and we’re going to have some fun right now.

Fact-checking Trump: He lied once every 169 words during the last debate

%name Fact checking Trump: He lied once every 169 words during the last debate by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

How does Trump get away with all of the crazy things he keeps saying in interviews, debates or on Twitter? Why don’t his supporters seem to care at all about all of his inaccurate claims and flat-out lies?

A new report suggests that Trump simply says too many false things to be countered effectively. He lies so much — apparently more than once per minute on average during a debate — there’s no longer a clear line between fact and fiction. And the strategy is working brilliantly so far, considering that he’s still the Republican front-runner for the presidency.
