But this exciting startup may be working on something a lot bigger than that, and it could redefine the future of computing. In addition to gaming, Magic Leap’s mixed reality (MR) experience could reshape the way we’ll use computers for productivity and regular day-to-day tasks. It’s the kind of technology that might replace the iPhone in a more distant future.

A new video recorded through the eyes of a Magic Leap user shows this technology in action for the first time, and it completely blew us away.

Amazon’s lineup of Kindle eBook readers and tablets is by far the company’s best selling hardware product line, and for good reason. Amazon has come a very long way in the eReader market and there’s little question that its devices are best in class. After all this time, you can finally feel it in the air: virtual reality and augmented reality are about to make the leap we’ve all been waiting for. As far as mainstream devices go, VR had all but been abandoned until Oculus came along and rekindled the world’s interest in virtual reality. Development of VR solutions has since accelerated, and now a high-quality virtual reality experience can be had for as little as $99 thanks to Samsung’s Gear VR headset, which works alongside the company’s most popular phones.

To really reach the masses however, VR must move beyond gaming, which has been the main focus of companies like Oculus and Samsung thus far. And with Monday’s launch of 360-degree live streaming support, YouTube may have just helped turn the tide.

Apple has just launched a major update to its Retina MacBook line that will include faster processors, longer battery life and a new color option. Apple says that the new upgrades “make the thinnest and lightest MacBook even better.” The highlight of the update is an upgrade to Intel’s sixth-generation Core M 1.3 GHz processors that have Turbo Boost speeds of up to 3.1 GHz.

The new laptops also feature faster 1866 MHz memory, deliver an extra hour of battery life, and come in a new rose gold color option like the rose gold option we first saw last fall with the launch of the iPhone 6s. Apple also says that the new “Intel HD Graphics 515 deliver up to 25 percent faster graphics performance, and faster PCIe-based flash storage makes everyday tasks feel snappier — from launching apps to opening files.”

These days, people love having phones with large displays, even though Apple’s new iPhone SE shows that there’s still a market for smaller phones. Even this new smaller iPhone looks positively huge compared to a new Android phone called the Posh Mobile Micro X S240. Unbox Therapy over the weekend got a first look at this tiny new Android phone, which features a 2.4-inch display, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM, a dual-core processor, a two-megapixel rear-facing camera and Android 4.4 KitKat.

Are your iPhone or Android text messages secure? Can anyone intercept them and read their contents? These are questions not many smartphone users ask, but not all text apps offer bulletproof security. In fact, some means of communication offer practically no security at all. Some are better than others at guarding your personal data, whether it’s trivial talk about your favorite sports team, or sharing sensitive documents, pictures and personal data.
