We’re pretty big fans of Automatic’s savvy trip tracker ‘round these parts, but one of our primary gripes when reviewing it late last year was the dearth of accessible data. From there, it syncs with your iPhone or Android handset via Bluetooth each time you take a trip, collecting data on mileage, fuel economy, hard braking, etc. It gathers oodles of useful information, but didn’t really go so far as to make a ton of it available to the motorist.

That’s changing somewhat with today’s introduction of Web Dashboard.

The Tizen-powered, SIM-enabled, curvy Gear S is Samsung’s latest addition to its smartwatch portfolio, and may be its best wearable computer yet. Sporting a large, flexible display, the Gear S looks nothing like its predecessors, although the device’s biggest flaw may be Tizen, a platform that’s yet to receive any love from developers. Luckily for Gear S buyers that plan to use the device without connecting it to a phone, Fleksy is here to help, at least when it comes to quickly typing messages on the tiny display.

When Windows 8 launched in 2012, Microsoft struggled to convince users that they should make the switch. The new UI was unfamiliar and unresponsive, the critical reaction was skeptical at best and most importantly, there wasn’t really anything wrong with Windows 7. In fact, two years later, Windows 7 still has an enormous lead over Windows 8, but with the latest software update, Microsoft has finally started turning users around on the new OS.

So it looks like we’re going to get our first glimpse of the iWatch (or at least some kind of Apple wearable computer) on September 9th. However, it’s also looking more and more like we’re going to be in for a long wait before we’ll actually have a chance to buy the device. Digitimes‘ sources now say that the iWatch “is still under engineering verification testing (EVT) stage and has to still go through production verification testing (PVT),” which means there’s almost no chance that the device will release before the end of the year.
