Korea may bar new Corvette because it’s TOO LOUD

2015 chevy corvette stingray 18 1 Korea may bar new Corvette because its TOO LOUD by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Filed under:

South Korean buyers hoping to stomp on the throttle to hear the thundering V8 of the Chevrolet C7 Corvette have reason to be a little depressed, it seems. The South Korean government has no interest in hearing the ‘Vettes angry growl. We’re afraid it’s just too darn loud.

“The launch of the seventh-generation Corvette is being delayed indefinitely due to Korea’s regulation on automobile noise,” said Chevrolet Korea CEO Sergio Rocha during a recent media conference, according to GM Authority.

Of course, Chevy could probably find some way to adjust the C7 to quiet it down its yell to meet the regulations, but there isn’t much financial incentive to do so. According to Rocha, there are only around 12 Corvettes imported into South Korea per year. It’s just not worth the investment to make sure a dozen people can enjoy the V8’s bark. Too bad, it’s a glorious wail…

The same site that taught us about the six organizations that are secretly running the Internet has returned this week with a new infographic, tracing the history of the Internet from its humble beginning as a network of four computers to its proliferation as one of the most valuable tools in modern society.

The Boy Genius Report: Nexus 6 review

Google’s tradition of releasing a brand new flagship Nexus phone every year isn’t stopping, and the company has come an incredibly long way since the original Nexus One. The latest iteration is the Nexus 6 with, yes, a gorgeous six-inch display. It’s manufactured by Motorola and was codenamed “Shamu” for a good reason — it’s monstrously huge and just feels like it’s going to slap you with its dorsal fin.

This is one of the most well-manufactured, technology-packed, volcano-luging, shark-diving phones I’ve ever used. But is it the best of the best or the best of the worst?

The single biggest mistake you can make when ordering an iPhone 6

%name The single biggest mistake you can make when ordering an iPhone 6 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

If you’re ordering an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus online for the coming holiday season, you really shouldn’t order it through your wireless carrier, especially if that carrier is T-Mobile. Business Insider’s Steve Kovach learned this lesson the hard way when he ordered an iPhone 6 Plus through the “Un-carrier” and got a notice over the weekend informing him that the device might not ship until December 28th, or around two months after he placed his order.

Somfy shades are the last piece of the home automation puzzle

%name Somfy shades are the last piece of the home automation puzzle by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

As we move further and further into a connected home and connected world, I regularly explore how we can integrate every device possible into one main system and network. For now, my favorite hub is SmartThings. It’s not perfect, but it’s a great home automation platform with a great community and support for a wide array of devices.

Window shades have been a bit of a white whale, though. This is an area I have always wanted to explore and I have heard that Somfy is without a doubt the leader in the space. In the past, not only have automated shades been a less-than-ideal solution with power having to be supplied to each noisy shade motor, but it’s also been prohibitively expensive for many people.

All of that has now changed, however.

%name A MUST HAVE FOR IPHONE USERS: Use this interactive map to find which Apple Stores will replace bent iPhones by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Apple is still insisting that bent iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models are a tiny problem even though evidence piles up every day showing that the problem is much more widespread than what the company is letting on. Now iPhone users can take matters into their own hands by using and contributing to a new interactive map that is actively tracking which Apple Stores across the world have agreed to replace bent iPhones so far and which have not.
