If you’re planning on buying gadgets this Black Friday and you want to find the biggest discounts, then your best bet may be to try Walmart, Newegg and Best Buy first. Mobile shopping app ShopSavvy, which lets its users track major sales at different retailers across multiple brands, has just given us some data about which retailers are offering the biggest average discounts on gadgets this Black Friday. It turns out that Walmart is offering the biggest average electronics discount at 44.5% off, followed by Newegg at 42.7% off and Best Buy at 38.2% off.

Something incredible happened with the iPhone 6 — the do-it-yourself repair gurus at iFixit actually gave it a respectable score for repairability. Normally, Apple’s products prioritize lightness and thinness over repairability and the devices are often loaded with strangely designed screws and glued-in batteries. But this time iFixit found that the device was surprisingly easy to fix on your own, provided you have the right tools and know-how. To celebrate this monumental achievement, iFixit has put out the most comprehensive self-repair guide for the iPhone 6 that we’ve seen yet and it will hopefully ensure that you never have to take your device to the Apple Store if it’s in need of a fix.

It turns out the Europe’s “right to be forgotten” regulations against Google were only the beginning. The Financial Times reports that the European Union’s parliament is working on a proposal to force Google to unbundle its major search business from all its other services. In other words, it sounds like Google will have to keep data on what you search for separate from all of the other services it offers, such as Gmail, Google Maps and more. It also sounds like Google would be prohibited from giving favorable treatment in its search results to its own services.

One of the problems with smartphones is that spy agencies and advertisers can use them to collect data and keep tabs on users, as many reports have shown in the last 18 months. While companies such as Apple and Google have started encrypting iPhone and Android devices by default, prompting the U.S. government to heavily criticize their encryption practices, that doesn’t mean smartphones are now free from spying.

The Nexus 6 is a very good phone in many ways but, as we made clear in our review, it has a lot of flaws as well. To take one example, Business Insider has done a photo shootout between the Nexus 6, the iPhone 6 Plus and the Galaxy Note 4 and has found that the big Nexus’s camera is truly subpar in low-light situations.
