Google considers replacing the back button with a swipe gesture in Android Q
Android Q will bring a host of significant new features to the mobile operating system later this year, from a system-wide dark mode to 3D Touch-like pressure-based input. But Google might also be looking to change up some of the fundamental elements of Android, as the latest discovery from XDA Developers appears to suggest.
This week, one of XDA’s senior members spotted a new gesture experiment contained within Android Q. The gesture seems to give Android users the ability to go back by swiping on either the left or right side of the screen. The gesture has yet to be fully implemented, but, as Apple has proven with the iPhone X/XS, it is indeed possible to replace most physical and digital buttons with gesture controls. Google is at least considering following suit.

Netflix to raise $2 billion in debt to help fuel its obsession with original content
In January of 2013, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos astutely laid Netflix’s content strategy on the table for all to see. “The goal is to become HBO faster than HBO can become us,” Sarandos said. He also added that Netflix, in stark opposition to networks that can’t help but micromanage every single aspect of the production process, would shy away from giving notes and would give content creators full-season commitments.
“The idea that they wouldn’t just pull the plug midway was totally thrilling,” Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan said at the time. “It’s similar to a pay-cable model but even more liberating. This is the future.”

iOS 13 will reportedly bring the iPad a step closer to replacing laptops
Apple has been touting the iPad as a viable laptop replacement for years, but the fact remains that iOS, in its current state, simply isn’t all that well suited to the multitasking necessary to make it a true workstation. That’s not to say that there aren’t iPad owners out there who have made it work, but, personally, I’d be at a significant disadvantage were I to trade in my laptop for an iPad to do my job, for a wide variety of reasons.
That might not be the case for much longer, though, as MacStories editor-in-chief Federico Viticci claimed on a recent episode of his Connected podcast that Apple will add mouse and trackpad support for iPad in iOS 13. Though Viticci didn’t single them out, he said that he has heard this news from multiple sources.

Of all the holidays on the U.S. calendar, Easter is definitely one of the most low-key. Families gather, eat some ham, and maybe the kids hunt for colored eggs or eat a bunch of candy, but it’s generally pretty chill. A video, which was first posted by Instagram user Workfth but subsequently removed due to a perceived “community guidelines” violation, shows a friendly Easter Bunny getting right in the middle of a physical altercation between two men on a busy street.
