Sony says the PS5 is still at least a year away
We know that the PlayStation 5 is deep in development, but Sony has seemingly dashed any hope there might have been of a spring 2020 launch. Speaking with reporters this week, Sony revealed that its next-generation PlayStation console (which technically hasn’t been named yet), will not launch within the next 12 months.
In other words, the earliest we would possibly see the PlayStation 5 on store shelves would be May 2020 (though it seems highly unlikely that Sony would launch a new console in May). That said, anything is possible at this point, but if the PS5 isn’t going to arrive this fall or next spring, Sony could repeat the same process it went through in 2013 for the PS4, when it unveiled the console in February, and then made it available in November.

This free app strips away all the junk to give you the Gmail experience you actually want
Google’s most popular services always seem to follow a familiar pattern. When they’re first released, they’re wonderfully simple and minimalistic alternatives to cluttered, overwhelming products. Google search is the most obvious example, but it’s hardly the only one. Chrome was a faster, simpler alternative to Internet Explorer and Firefox. Google Maps was a faster, simpler alternative to Mapquest. Even Android itself was a faster, simpler alternative to Symbian, Windows Mobile, and the BlackBerry platform. But there’s one Google service in particular that exploded in popularity solely because it simplified a type of product that had been cumbersome and overwhelming since it was first created. That’s right, we’re talking about Gmail.
Before Gmail was first released, email was a huge pain. Okay fine, email is still a huge pain, but it was far worse back then. Free email services were almost completely unheard of — yes, you had to pay for personal email accounts — and storage was very limited. Then Gmail came along and flipped email on its head, offering users unlimited storage and a great set of features, and the only price to pay was giving Google access to your data. On top of all that, the Gmail interface was also a big draw for users because it was so simple and straightforward, which was indeed a breath of fresh air compared to email clients like Microsoft Outlook. As is the case with all of Google’s services though, the simplicity is lost as more and more features are added. Many of those features are quite useful, but there are always people who wish things could go back to the way they were. Well guess what: They can.

Apple’s legendary design team lost three members, but there’s no reason to panic
At Apple, design is king, an ethos instilled into the company by Steve Jobs more than two decades ago. Famously, Jobs laid out Apple’s core design philosophy during a 2003 interview with The New York Times.
“Most people make the mistake of thinking design is what it looks like,” Jobs said. “People think it’s this veneer — that the designers are handed this box and told, ‘Make it look good!’ That’s not what we think design is. It’s not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”
