Wild video captures teenagers egging a Tesla Model 3 with the owner inside it
For reasons that remain entirely unclear, Tesla vehicles at various Supercharger stations across the country have been targeted by vandals over the past few months. Sometimes the Supercharger stations themselves are targeted, as we saw earlier this year when someone cut charging cables at a station in Utah.
There have also been any number of instances of newly minted Model 3 vehicles getting keyed for seemingly no reason at all. In light of that, an even stranger story involving an attack on a Tesla recently surfaced out of Michigan. Earlier this week, a group of teenagers in Ann Arbor decided it would be a good idea to drive through a Supercharger station and pelt a Model 3 with eggs.

Video shows Tesla Model 3 on Autopilot quickly swerve out of harm’s way
It hasn’t been a good week for Tesla, at least from a financial perspective. Earlier in the week, Tesla released its earnings report for the March quarter and posted a loss of $702 million even though revenue jumped by more than $1 billion. Still, Tesla’s revenue for the quarter came in markedly lower than analysts on Wall Street were anticipating. Consequently, even analysts who typically have a pro-Tesla bent couldn’t help but call Tesla’s earnings report a “debacle.”
But there’s more to Tesla than just the bottom line. Sure, the company is burning through cash but that shouldn’t detract from all of the intriguing things the company continues to do in the automotive space. As a prime example, Tesla’s Autopilot feature — which typically only makes the news when a serious accident occurs — has proven to be revolutionary feature that quite literally saves lives.

Firefighters saved the National Archives from an arsonist who tried to burn it down
The National Archives Museum in Washington DC is more than 80 years old and houses everything from important presidential papers to some of the nation’s founding documents, like the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. Which is why it would have been a monumental loss to the country if the arsonist who tried to burn the museum down Thursday night had succeeded.

Amazon is reportedly working on a new high-def music streaming service
Just days after Amazon launched a free music streaming tier for Alexa-enabled devices, Music Business Worldwide has come forward with a report claiming that the technology company and online marketplace is preparing to debut a high-definition music streaming service as well. Expected to arrive in 2019, the service will exist alongside Amazon’s other streaming offerings, and should cost somewhere around $15 a month.
Sources with knowledge of Amazon’s plans say that the company has already reached a licensing deal with at least one major record label, and that discussions are ongoing with several other music rightsholders.

Intel explains why it exited the 5G smartphone market
The sheer amount of corporate drama surrounding the impending 5G boom has been nothing short of bizarre. From AT&T’s misleading 5G E icon — which prompted a lawsuit from Sprint — to Qualcomm and Apple’s recently settled patent dispute, 5G seemingly has mobile carriers, component suppliers, and handset manufacturers all trying to eek out any type of advantage in the marketplace they can.
One of the more interesting things to result from all of this was Intel’s announcement a few weeks back indicating their intention to exit the 5G smartphone market altogether. The move was somewhat surprising given that Apple was supposedly going to rely on Intel to supply 5G modems for its 2020 iPhone lineup. Of course, the dynamic quickly shifted once word of Apple and Qualcomm’s settlement broke.
