The saga surrounding Apple’s efforts to secure 5G chips for its 2020 iPhone lineup is nothing short of gripping, as illustrated by a new in-depth report published by The Information.

As you likely heard, Apple and Qualcomm this past April settled their longstanding patent dispute after more than two years of litigation. As part of the settlement, both companies agreed to a six-year license agreement that, among other things, will see Qualcomm provide chipsets for the iPhone for at least six years. Interestingly, Apple was compelled to settle with Qualcomm due to a series of issues surrounding Intel’s ongoing efforts to produce a 5G chip for forthcoming iPhone models.

Pilots confronted Boeing about 737 Max issues before deadly crash in March

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

In March, a Boeing 737 Max 8 airliner operated by Ethiopia Airlines crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all 157 people onboard. It was the second deadly crash of a 737 Max in just six months time, and it led to the grounding of every 737 Max plane around the world.

Now, as the investigation into the cause of the crashes is still ongoing, a recording obtained by CBS News indicates that pilots didn’t feel comfortable flying the planes even before the March crash. In the recordings, pilots from American Airlines can be heard grilling a Boeing official over the safety of the planes and the fact that they weren’t made aware of the stall-prevention feature that has now been linked to both deadly crashes.

Here’s what Samsung is doing to fix the Galaxy Fold’s embarrassing mistakes

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Samsung is still committed to an imminent relaunch of its super-expensive foldable handset. The one that was supposed to have been on the market by now but was yanked at the eleventh hour after high-profile reviewers and tech outlets found a slew of problems with the Galaxy Fold — which, it turns out, was unacceptably fragile for a device with a nearly $2,000 price tag.

We know Samsung is still committed to the device because the company keeps telling us so. And we also know the company is still committed because it’s racing to fix the sloppy work that dogged the first version of the Galaxy Fold to ensure that it’s finally ready for prime time.

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
