Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can save up to $20 on two full-priced games
Nintendo seems to have an aversion to ever dropping the prices on its games before it’s absolutely necessary, which is why a special offer announced this week comes as something of a surprise. But less surprising is how needlessly complicated the process of taking advantage of that special offer turned out to be.
On Thursday, Nintendo unveiled a limited-time offer exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers allowing them to purchase a pair of “Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers” for $99.99 through July 31st, 2019. These vouchers can then be redeemed for digital versions of select games on the Switch eShop. Both vouchers are valid for a full year, so you can redeem them right away or hold on to one or both for games coming out later this year.

China’s lunar rover is helping to unravel a Moon mystery
The Chinese space program started 2019 with a major milestone when the Chang’e 4 lunar lander successfully touched down on the far side of the Moon. It was the first time any country had completed such a feat, the landing itself was just the first of many objectives China had for the mission.
In the days that followed, the lander deployed a rover, snapped photos, and even grew some plants. Its rover had some work of its own to do as well, and a new research paper published in Nature reveals that some of the readings it gathered from lunar surface samples were rather surprising for scientists.

James Gunn just gave us a clue about the plot of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’
Not only were we left with two Guardians of the Galaxy still alive after Avengers: Infinity War, but there were many other reasons to worry about the future of Marvel’s hugely popular MCU franchise following James Gunn’s firing. Many attempted to explain ahead of Endgame what the third movie in the Guardians series could be about, with some people speculating that the action might happen before Infinity War.
A prequel would solve the issue of so many Guardians dying, especially given that Marvel kept telling people how all those deaths were permanent. Avengers: Endgame fixed some of those problems but also created new ones, so it’s probably safe to say that Guardians Vol. 3 will follow the events of Endgame. And a brand new James Gunn interview confirms all of that, giving us a sneak preview of what we can expect from the upcoming episode.

This flying taxi startup just flew its 5-passenger jet for the first time
The promise of flying cars has never been fulfilled. Sure, there are pint-sized airplanes you can also drive on land but let’s be honest here, those are nothing like how futurists in the 1950s imagined transportation would be like over a half-century later. It’s a disappointing reality, but some companies are trying to get us to the flying car finish line in earnest, and a German startup called Lilium just hit a pretty impressive milestone.
The company’s new “air taxi” just completed its maiden voyage, some two years after its initial reveal. In that time, Lilium’s five-seat, jet-like design went from an interesting concept to a real, working aircraft, and it looks very impressive.
