Netflix is releasing 56 new original movies and shows in June – here’s the full list
It’s pretty big news that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix late next month. People en masse didn’t expect too much from this animated Spider-Man feature, but it ended up being the most acclaimed Spider-Man movie of all time. If you haven’t seen it yet, you really have to check it out. There’s plenty more solid third-party content coming to Netflix in June, and you can check out the full list right here. But everyone knows the real reason people look forward to Netflix’s content announcements each month is to see all the new original content set to debut.
May has been an extremely busy month for Netflix originals, and there are plenty more releases still to come this month. In fact, there are 62 new originals debuting in May, and you can see them all in our earlier coverage to make sure you don’t miss anything. The party doesn’t stop in June, though, because there are 56 more Netflix original shows, movies, and specials set to premiere this month!
Highlights include new seasons of a number of popular original shows, and the most hotly anticipated one has to be season 5 of Black Mirror, which hits Netflix in its entirety on June 5th. Dope, Aggretsuko, and Dark are all back with new seasons as well, and the third and final season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones. It doesn’t have a firm release date yet, but Jessica Jones is pretty much the only Marvel show on Netflix that was any good, so it’ll be sad to see it go along with the rest of Netflix’s Marvel series.
We’ve only just scratched the surface as far as all the exciting new Netflix original content set to debut over the course of June. You’ll find the full release calendar below along with links to each Netflix page where available.

Google searches for how to cancel HBO spiked after ‘Game of Thrones’ finale
Game of Thrones season 8 is now beyond us, and we’ve come to accept HBO ruined the biggest TV show ever created. Again, it’s not the ending that’s upsetting, but the writing of this whole season. That’s something HBO is yet to address, as the company has been focusing on the divisive nature of the finale, rather than dealing with actual criticism. Also, HBO hasn’t really acknowledged that infamous petition more than 1.5 million people signed. Maybe the best way to prove how annoyed fans are with their favorite series is to look at the dramatic spike in Google searches for “how to cancel HBO”.

Playdate is an incredibly weird handheld console with a built-in crank, and I totally want it
I’m hardly someone you could call a gamer in the traditional sense because most of my gaming takes place on a mobile device I call iPhone. That’s probably one of the reasons why this super weird new handheld gaming console seems so appealing. But the Playdate (image above), which is coming from the same company who made Firewatch, isn’t an iPhone or Android alternative. It’s not even a Switch-like device. It’s something incredibly unusual, a device with a tiny black and white screen, and, to top things off, with a crank.

Scientists studied baby shark vomit and realized they eat a ton of birds
When you think of the diet of a shark you probably don’t imagine the top-tier ocean predators feasting on birds — and not sea birds, but the kinds of birds you might find in your own back yard. That bizarre finding is the result of a new study published in the journal Ecology, and it reveals something very interesting about the species of shark known for eating just about everything.
The study focused on the feeding habits of tiger sharks, which have a reputation for taste-testing whatever they come across. Upon examining the stomach contents of over 100 young tiger sharks, the researchers discovered that nearly half of them had feathers and other bird bits in their guts. But what was most surprising about the discovery was that the birds weren’t the kind you’d expect an ocean predator to be feasting on.

Fugitive promises to surrender because his wanted poster got 15,000 Facebook ‘likes’
A Connecticut police lieutenant made headlines today after successfully negotiating the terms under which a fugitive has agreed to surrender himself into custody.
Twenty-nine-year-old Jose Simms, who is believed to be in New York currently and who has several outstanding warrants, promised to turn himself in under one condition: If the Facebook post written by the Connecticut PD that includes Simms’ ‘Wanted’ poster gets 15,000 ‘likes’ on the social network, Simms will surrender.

Consumer Reports blasts Tesla’s ‘Navigate on Autopilot’ feature
Over the years, Tesla’s relationship with Consumer Reports has been shaky at best. Complicating matters is that some of Consumer Reports’ own findings and reports have presented seemingly conflicting information at times. Earlier this year, for instance, the publication revealed that Tesla’s Model 3 is the “most satisfying car” to own, only to strip the car of its “buy” recommendation a few weeks later due to “reliability issues.”
The most recent saga involves Consumer Reports testing out Tesla’s latest Autopilot features. Specifically, the company tested the most recent iteration of the Navigate on Autopilot feature, something which Tesla a few months back said was its “most advanced Autopilot feature ever.”

Measles spreads to another state, with half of the U.S. now reporting new cases
With new reports of measles popping up on a daily basis it was all but inevitable that this day would come, and here we are: Half of all U.S. states have now reported new cases of measles since the outbreak began several months back. The state that pushed us to the 50 percent threshold is Maine, which just became the 25th state to report a confirmed measles diagnosis.
The individual was a child, as is so often the case, and while the youngster has reportedly recovered from his illness since originally being diagnosed a while ago, the confirmation of the illness was just revealed by state medical officials. It highlights a troubling trend that shows no signs of slowing.

Ford’s demo of a robot working in unison with a self-driving car is a wild glimpse into the future
If you’re skeptical of or put off by the idea of self-driving cars, then there’s a good chance you won’t be a fan of Ford’s intriguing research project designed to have robots get out of self-driving cars and deliver packages right to your door.
Over the past few months, Ford and Agility Robotics have been working on a new initiative designed to assess how intelligent robots and self-driving cars can work in unison to more efficiently deliver items like groceries, packages, and even pizza, straight to your door. The impetus behind the idea certainly makes sense insofar that a self-driving can only bring an ordered item to a nearby curb. And sure, a human could come out and pick up a given package, but why expend any energy at all when an advanced robot can literally do all the heavy lifting for you?

WhatsApp confirms that ads will start appearing in the app in 2020
You know that one episode of Black Mirror where everyone can’t even go to sleep without watching an ad that covers their entire bedroom? Well, we’re one step closer to that reality today, as Facebook has confirmed that ads will arrive in its app as part of Statuses (which are the equivalent of Instagram’s Stories) in 2020.
The social network made the announcement at its annual Facebook Marketing Summit in the Netherlands this week, and Be Connect digital marketing agency’s Olivier Ponteville was apparently on hand at the event, as evidenced by his tweets. He photographed several slides which showed what the ads will look like in the app.
