In a bulletin that will make many people do a double-take, the Food and Drug Administration just issued a very serious warning for individuals considering a controversial treatment where one individual’s poop is transplanted into another.

Yes, poop transplants are a real thing, and they’ve actually proven to be incredibly beneficial for certain people suffering from a variety of ailments related to their intestines. However, the FDA warning emphasizes caution due to a recent case where two individuals receiving the fecal transplants became seriously ill, with one of the recipients actually dying as a result.

Meet the former director at Epic Games who tried to cancel ‘Fortnite’

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The video game industry over the last two years came close to looking dramatically different, thanks to an Epic Games ex-director admitting that he actually tried to cancel the super popular Fortnite game before he left the company in 2012.

The free-to-play shooter, of course, went on to take the game industry by storm, netting by one estimate almost $2.5 billion in revenue in 2018 alone. It’s also caused companies like Netflix to think creatively about how they regard competition, with Netflix’s leadership repeatedly singling out Fortnite as tougher competition for user eyeballs that rival streamers.

Watch Tesla’s ‘Sentry Mode’ catch a masked man trying to cause a Model 3 crash

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Ever since Tesla introduced Sentry Mode last March, the security-oriented surveillance feature has captured all sorts of wild shenanigans. Most notably, you may recall a handful of instances where Sentry Mode captured vandals inexplicably keying Tesla vehicles for seemingly no reason at all.

A more recent video out of Norway, though, is far more harrowing. Property damage is one thing, but the video below shows a masked man purposefully removing the wheel nuts from the rear tires of a parked Model 3. Tellingly, the man left one wheel nut on each tire untouched which suggests that he was hoping to cause the Model 3 to get into a serious accident.

Here’s how Keanu Reeves got his part as Duke Caboom in ‘Toy Story 4’

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

At one point when Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley and the producers were in the middle of a blind audio test, going through recordings of Canadian actors reading lines for the next installment of the beloved franchise, they yelled out for the recordings to stop. “Wait, stop! Who is that?” That was their outburst after hearing one particular actor deliver his lines, though they didn’t know at first who the voice belonged to.

YouTube TV is giving away free Showtime subscriptions to longtime users

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

They say that nothing in life is free, but Google would beg to differ, as select YouTube TV subscribers are now being offered a free subscription to Showtime from now through September 5th. The subscription typically costs $10.99 per month, but if you are granted this limited-time offer, you can try the service out for free.

It’s not entirely clear who getting access to this free summer of Showtime, as YouTube TV simply refers to “longtime friends” in the offer. That said, as someone who has been paying for YouTube TV since last year, I didn’t see the offer on my account. It should pop up as soon as you load up tv.youtube.com or the YouTube TV app if you’re eligible, but if you want to make sure you don’t miss it, you can also check the Settings menu.

Samsung may be prepping a high-end tablet to compete with the iPad Pro

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

A lot of the coverage that’s been devoted to Samsung lately has to do with its smartphone business, and particularly its experimentation in that arena. We’re referring to things like the Galaxy Fold, which was supposed to herald a new era in smartphone design with its foldable form factor, but ended up being so poorly designed that the launch had to be canceled and postponed indefinitely.

Meanwhile, as we reported a few days ago, Samsung is still pressing ahead and remains no less game to experiment with new smartphone plans, as can be seen via this rollable design patent.

Tesla’s Solar Roof is incredibly sleek… and incredibly expensive

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Beyond selling cars, it’s no secret that Tesla’s overarching goal is to change the way the world uses and generates electricity. Hardly a well-kept secret, Elon Musk explained as much during the second iteration of Tesla’s master plan.

“The point of all this,” Musk wrote back in 2016, “was, and remains, accelerating the advent of sustainable energy, so that we can imagine far into the future and life is still good.”
