Watch Arnold Schwarzenegger go undercover and prank prospective car buyers
In a somewhat bizarre, and yet entertaining, new commercial, Arnold Schwarzenegger goes “undercover” and tries to convince prospective EV buyers to get a gas-powered car instead. The ad itself was put together by Veloz, a California non-profit keen on accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles across the country.
The ad is essentially a tongue-in-cheek effort to extol the virtues of electric cars by highlighting the drawbacks of traditional gas-powered vehicles.

Astronauts snapped an incredible photo of a volcano erupting in the Pacific Ocean
Astronauts who head to the International Space Station get to see things that the rest of us can only imagine. As the orbiting laboratory rapidly orbits Earth, it affords its inhabitants the chance to see all manner of jaw-dropping sights, and on the morning of June 22nd, one of those sights happened to be a volcano blowing its top in the Pacific Ocean.
In a new post on its Earth Observatory web portal, NASA shows off a truly gorgeous snapshot of the Raikoke Volcano violently spewing ash high into the sky. The volcano, which sits as its own uninhabited island, isn’t known for frequent eruptions, making this a particularly rare event.

This supercut of the entire ‘Toy Story’ franchise is a three-minute masterpiece
Monday’s box office haul of an estimated $14.2 million has pushed Toy Story 4‘s four-day receipts to just above $135 million, a solid start for the latest installment in the beloved animated franchise that also marks the biggest domestic opening yet for the four Toy Story movies.
It’s a franchise that’s now 24 years old, so to see this level of continued interest in the adventures of Buzz, Woody and the rest of the gang of toys is certainly impressive at a time when there’s more competition than ever at the box office — and, for that matter, on streaming video platforms — for our time and our money. And now there’s even a new way Toy Story fans can enjoy Pixar’s long-running franchise, with a supercut that combines every Toy Story movie into one perfect, three-minute masterpiece.

Cybersecurity firm says Huawei’s telecom equipment is easier to hack
Another day, another shot fired in the ongoing war between the US and all things Huawei. The Wall Street Journal is out with a new story today focused on research blasting Huawei telecom equipment as more vulnerable to being hacked than equipment from its rivals — a report that the White House has apparently reviewed and has been used as confirmation of the overall US stance against Huawei.

Elon Musk says he knows why Falcon Heavy’s core booster missed its landing
SpaceX launched its Falcon Heavy rocket in the early hours of Tuesday morning, delivering 24 satellites into orbit and making many of its clients very happy in the process. The company nailed the landing of both side boosters, but the center core booster narrowly missed its landing and splashed down in the ocean instead.
In the hours following the launch, SpaceX boss Elon Musk weighed in on the unfortunate fate of the core booster, offering a bit of an explanation as to why it missed its mark.

Forget the Galaxy Note 10: Samsung is making a more affordable 5G phone
The Galaxy Note 10 is launching soon, complete with a brand new design and a few novel features, but this Samsung flagship will be at least as expensive as the Galaxy S10 series that launched earlier this year. And if you’re gunning for a 5G version of the Note 10, then you’ll have to pay even more.
But Samsung is also doing something it hasn’t done before; it’s working on a brand new flagship device that won’t be as expensive as the S10 or Note 10. Moreover, this rumored Galaxy A90 phone will deliver 5G connectivity as well as 45W charging speeds — something that hasn’t been available on any Samsung flagship to date.

NASA will finally let scientists play with Moon rocks from the Apollo campaign
It’s been a while since NASA astronauts last explored the lunar surface. During the Apollo missions which first saw man set foot on another astronomical body, the brave space travelers brought back more than their fair share of artifacts when they returned to Earth. Now, after decades of waiting, some of those Moon rock samples will finally be unsealed for study.
As AP reports, the samples have been sitting under lock and key at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, and with rapidly-advancing technology, it’s finally time for scientists to see what secrets they may hold.
