This is the craziest smartwatch design you’ve ever seen, and it’s not from Apple or Samsung
The first thing I thought of when looking at this new smartwatch design patent from IBM, after noting that the watch display expands to become a smartphone on your wrist — and expands again, if needed, to the size of a tablet strapped to your wrist — was that it looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. Also, that this device must surely be at least as fragile as Samsung’s once-easily breakable Galaxy Fold.

OK seriously, stop whining about Apple’s controversial new iPhone 11 design
I’ve been doing this for long enough to know how certain stories are going to play out. That’s why I knew a year before Samsung even announced the Galaxy Fold that it would be a piece of junk. Samsung Mobile truly shines when it comes to refining designs and technologies that are already mature. That’s why phones like the Galaxy S10 are market leaders in nearly every conceivable way. But when it comes to innovating with new designs and new technologies, Samsung is almost always a hot mess. The company makes huge, unforgivable design mistakes on first-generation products. On top of that, it often tries to rush things out the door in an effort to be first. That’s right, Samsung is literally the corporate embodiment of a YouTube commenter. Remember when rumors started to pick up that Apple was getting ready to release an “iTV” with Siri voice control, so Samsung announced a voice-controlled TV at CES the following year and rushed it out the door? First! That TV almost never responded to voice commands the way it was supposed to, and it now lays claim to one of the worst user experiences of the past decade. Now, the Galaxy Fold is the same story all over again.
When I made my Galaxy Fold prediction more than a year early, I endured an endless wave of whiny emails from Samsung fans… right up until they realized I was right. But perhaps the response to today’s prediction will be less abrasive since it’s so obvious. Are you among the many, many people out there whining about the rear camera setup on the new iPhone 11 design we’ve seen leak time and time again? Well, you need to stop your incessant whingeing right now, and I’m going to explain why.

The hottest new features coming to Google’s Pixel 4 just leaked
The Pixel 4 rear design is no longer a secret, as Google surprised fans with a teaser image (above) after leaks have revealed said design. We know the phone will look a lot like the iPhone 11, which also leaked well before the Pixel 4, sporting a multi-lens camera on the back inside a square module placed in the top left corner. Furthermore, there’s no fingerprint sensor on the back. If there is one, it must be placed under the screen. Either that or the Pixel 4 will support 3D face recognition like the iPhone X phones. Google didn’t reveal anything else about the phone, which should be unveiled at some point in October. But a brand new leak seemingly confirms the signature features of the Pixel 4.

Man bitten by shark in 1994 finally gets its tooth out of his foot
In 1994, Jeff Weakley was surfing off the coast of Florida’s Flagler Beach when he was attacked by a shark. He survived the ordeal but not without shedding some blood, as the then-unidentified shark sunk its teeth into his foot before the two parted ways.
Weakley couldn’t identify the shark at the time and assumed he’d never know what species had tried to make lunch out of him. That is, until a tiny parting gift from the shark reappeared nearly 25 years later. A tooth fragment which had broken off in the surfer’s foot found its way to the surface, and offered Weakley a shot at answering the question that gnawed at him for over two decades.

Bill Gates explains why he couldn’t duplicate Steve Jobs’ magic ‘spells’
Bill Gates would like you to know that the reason his late rival was able to resuscitate Apple and take the iPhone maker from near-death to being the most valuable company in the world is that Steve Jobs was so successful at making people believe in an idea. Or, as Gates puts it, that Jobs was so good at “casting spells.”
You get it, right? It’s an uncommonly fantastical metaphor to hear from the Microsoft co-founder, who can get pretty wonky and technical in his description of these kinds of things. But in a segment set to be broadcast on Sunday during the CNN program Fareed Zakaria GPS, that’s how Gates will explain why he thinks Steve was able to do what he did and engineer one of the greatest business success stories of all time. And why Gates was able to see through it all, even though he admits couldn’t recreate the magic to the same degree.
