This clip is why I’m a little worried about ‘The Lion King’ living up to the hype
Hakuna Matata is supposed to be a wonderful phrase. Unfortunately, the new clip from The Lion King that Disney released ahead of the much-anticipated movie’s arrival in theaters next week is not so wonderful. And it’s got me skeptical about whether the movie will live up to the hype, and how it will fare next to the beloved animated classic.
Am I being too pessimistic? Maybe, but it’s not just me. There’s been an interesting kind of split-take dynamic in many of the early reviews from critics who got an advance look at the film. On the one hand, they say it’s a visual marvel, unlike anything they’ve ever seen before. A masterpiece, even. Albeit with a massive caveat.

Moons that escape their planets are now called ‘ploonets’
Late last year, astronomers decided that moons which orbit other moons should get their own special name. The label “moon-moon” was offered — and promptly ridiculed because of how silly it sounds — but the name appears to have stuck, for better or worse. With that problem solved, some have turned their attention to another type of world that doesn’t have a concrete name.
Moons that escape the gravity of their host planet and go solo can be called many things, and their label often depends on how large they are. For particularly massive moons that break free, researchers have a new name: Ploonets.

Apple is spending up to $15M per episode on its TV shows, as Netflix starts spending less
There was a time, not that long ago in fact, where HBO’s reported budget of $5 million spent on each episode of Game of Thrones sounded pretty extreme. Like something approaching a small movie budget. Not that Westeros fans would argue such spending bordered on anything close to profligacy, with the attention to detail and quality so high, but it still was an eye-popping number. And now here we are, with major new entrants like Apple about to plunge into the Streaming Wars — and to start dedicating the equivalent of feature film budgets to their own new TV shows in the hopes of guaranteeing they’ll have something you’ll like or at least want to try.

Google reveals that over 1,000 Google Assistant audio recordings were leaked
Smart devices have changed the face of privacy forever. Telling people that you believed someone was listening to you at all times used to be cause for concern, but when everyone has a phone in their pocket and a computer on the desk and an Amazon Echo or a Google Home in their living room, it’s simply the truth. Although there are safeguards against your private conversations getting into the hands of unwanted parties, you can’t say for sure that the words you speak out loud are truly private. And there’s more proof of that every day.

The Galaxy Note 10 doesn’t have a headphone jack, but Samsung has a solution
The Galaxy Note 10 will not have a headphone jack, and that’s no longer just a rumor. Galaxy Note 10+ photos that Samsung posted with the FCC leaked, revealing there’s no 3.5mm port on the new phone, which means none of your existing wired headphones will work with it without an adapter. However, a brand new leak says that Samsung is going to make up for this “courageous” change.
