We humans tend to take our ability to chew and swallow for granted, but as mammals we actually have a pretty complicated system of bones and muscles helping us tackle our pizza slices and steaks. Determining when mammals developed their unique style of eating has been a topic of discussion among scientists for some time, and a new fossil discovery is offering some big clues.

The creature, known as Microdocodon gracilis, was an ancient mammal separated from the modern age by 165 million years. Going back that far, you might expect that its style of eating was quite a bit different than our own, but a new study says that’s definitely not the case.

San Diego Comic-Con 2019 is the biggest event of the season, and we’ve seen a ton of news from the show this year. Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation is easily one of the most hotly anticipated panels of the show, and Kevin Feige and Co. delivered exactly what fans expected: precise details about the MCU Phase 4. SDCC also delivered plenty of other events, complete with trailers for upcoming movies and TV series that fans can’t wait to see.

Netflix released the first teaser trailer for The Witcher, which might easily become the next epic Game of Thrones-style obsession. But SDCC also brought us even more trailers for many upcoming TV series, including Watchmen, Star Trek: Picard, and Westworld 3 to name just a few.

The month of major Netflix originals continues this week as Orange is the New Black returns for its seventh and final season. The prison dramedy helped put Netflix on the map way back in 2013 as a genuine player in the increasingly crowded TV landscape, and it’s incredible to think just how prolific the service has become since.

The other highlight of the week is the addition of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, which remains one of the best movies from the latter half of his career. Plus, its arrival on Netflix comes at the perfect time, as his ninth movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is set it hit theaters on Friday, July 26th. If you’re so inclined, you can turn it into a Tarantino double feature and watch Inglourious Basterds before you head to the theater.

Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home are already in our rearview mirrors, which means we can finally focus on what’s happening next in the MCU. We’ve known for a while that Marvel has at least eight new movies planned for Phase 4, although the company kept the actual titles a secret, waiting for Spider-Man 2 to conclude the Infinity Saga before sharing anything more. Then came Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con panel in Hall H on Saturday evening, which is where Marvel finally told us what to expect after Endgame and Far From Home.

We’ve got quite a few surprises in store in the coming years, both when it comes to feature films and Disney+ series that will be part of the same universe and tie directly into these movies.
