It won’t come as much of a surprise since the news leaked the other day, but it’s nevertheless a hugely important move on Apple’s part: the company confirmed on Thursday afternoon that it will acquire the majority of Intel’s smartphone modem business for $1 billion. The deal will push Apple ever closer to what appears to be its ultimate goal of taking ownership of every single important component included inside its iPhones. It’s not just about the iPhone and other products Apple currently sells, of course, because all these businesses will also design chips for future Apple products like AR glasses and perhaps even cars.

Ever since Apple discontinued the 17-inch MacBook Pro in 2012, many power users lamented the lack of a big display option in Apple’s notebook line. Not to fear, rumor has it that Apple later this year will introduce a 16-inch MacBook Pro with some serious hardware underneath the hood. SpaceX has successfully performed many resupply missions for the crew of the International Space Station, sending vital supplies to the orbiting laboratory using its Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon cargo spacecraft. Tourists visiting Yellowstone National Park get to see a lot of wonderful things, not least of which is a variety of wildlife that is, by its very nature, wild. A group of obnoxious tourists found that out the hard way earlier this week when loitering near a bull bison that had no patience for their antics, and a nine-year-old girl paid the price.

As the National Park Service explains, a large group of tourists saw fit to crowd around the large animal near a trail in the vicinity of the popular Old Faithful geyser. The dozens of tourists remained there for “at least 20 minutes” and came within five feet of the animal, which eventually decided it had seen enough.
