Leak shows Samsung’s brand new Galaxy Note 10+ isn’t even as powerful as Apple’s year-old iPhones
With just over one week to go before Samsung makes its new Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ official, there’s really not much left for the company to surprise us with. Why? It’s not that Samsung is predictable, it’s that almost every last detail has already leaked at this point. The Note 10 lineup will be Samsung’s hottest new smartphone duo ever, featuring a sleek design overhaul with a new all-screen design that has a tiny hole-punch camera centered at the top. In terms of specs, we’re looking at impressive devices that feature the brand new Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, up to 12GB of RAM, plenty of storage, new triple-lens cameras, and Android Pie. Needless to say, the Note 10 and Note 10+ will also include Samsung’s signature S Pen stylus complete with a few new tricks.
We know both phones are going to be expensive. In fact, the Galaxy Note 10+ will be so expensive that pricing is likely the main reason Samsung decided to also make an entry-level version of the phone, just like it did with the Galaxy S10e. We also know that the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ will be released on August 23rd after going up for preorder shortly after Samsung’s press conference next week. There really isn’t much left to be uncovered, but one more puzzle piece is now in place thanks to a leak uncovered on Monday morning.

Trusted leaker says all three 2020 iPhones will support 5G
The iPhone 11 will hit stores in less than two months, but none of the three iPhones Apple is getting ready to launch will feature 5G connectivity. Comparatively, several competing devices will support 5G networks, including the Galaxy Note 10 that launches next week. iPhone fans know better than to be surprised, given that Apple did the same thing with 4G and 3D adoption before. Apple would rather wait for 5G coverage to improve before launching its own 5G devices. And an insider now says not only will Apple launch its first 5G phone next year but that all 2020 iPhones will support the new standard.

A revolutionary new smartphone screen design is here, and it’s not from Apple or Samsung
It took years for smartphone makers to make all-screen phones that feature small bezels, and we thought smartphone design will stall for a few years now that everyone is ready to deliver generally the same design. Some of the current phones have notches, and others have hole-punch cameras. Some of them feature curved edges, and others have cameras that slide up when needed. But all of them feature tiny bezels around the screen, with most Android phones packing a noticeable “chin” bottom bezel. Things are about to change faster than we thought, and the first phones to feature even more daring screen designs are almost here. We’ve seen a bunch of reports and leaks showing the kind of screen technology smartphone makers are working on, but now we have the first official take on this particular screen design breakthrough. And it’s not coming from Samsung or Apple.

NASA decides not to skip key SLS test after all
NASA really, really wants its own rocket. The agency has been shoveling money into a number of programs — including agreements with SpaceX and Boeing to produce crew capsules for manned missions — but above all else it would love for its pricey rocket, the Space Launch System, to reach the finish line.
With delays piling up, NASA had apparently been considering fast-tracking the home stretch of its development by skipping a “Green Run” test of its core engines. Now, after giving it some additional thought, the agency has decided to stick with its original plans.

Surprise: The first device to get Huawei’s Android alternative isn’t a phone
Ahead of releasing its operating results next week covering the first half of the year, Huawei has finally revealed the first device that will be based on its proprietary operating system that once seemed destined as the company’s Plan B for losing Android access as a result of the US ban. However, the first device getting the company’s Hongmeng OS won’t actually be a phone, as once assumed — it will instead be a TV with a smart screen, the company announced at a launch event Friday for its first 5G phone in China.

Everything new coming to Netflix this week, and everything leaving (week of July 28)
Well, Netflix fans, the bad news is Stranger Things season 4 is now behind us and our favorite bunch of 80s kids won’t be back to battle the Mind Flayer until sometime next year at the earliest. Thankfully, the good news is that Netflix has a ton of other content for you to enjoy, and there are dozens of titles arriving on everyone’s favorite streaming service over the course of the coming week.
Highlights include a ton of great movies like every original Rocky film from the first one through Rocky V, Groundhog Day, and more, but there are also a bunch of Netflix originals set to debut over the next week. Whitney Cummings’s new stand up comedy special arrives on Tuesday, and season 2 of The Letdown hits Netflix’s catalog one day later. Then on Friday, you’ve got season 3 of Dear White People, season 2 of Derry Girls, and plenty more to look forward to.
As for all the content departing from Netflix this week, there’s a ton so you should definitely scan the list. With the first trailer for Zombieland: Double Tap having just been released a few days ago, we’ll point out that the original Zombieland will be removed from Netflix’s catalog on Thursday so be sure to rewatch it while you still can.

You’ll soon be able to run Android on your Nintendo Switch
If you’ve been dying to install Android on your Nintendo Switch to turn it into an even more versatile gadget, then your wish is about to come true. We’ve seen all the teasers showing us that Android can operate on the console, and the team behind the mod is apparently ready for an “official” release. Mind you, there’s nothing actually official about this Android ROM for the Switch, and you can’t expect Nintendo to actually endorse it. In fact, you should know from the get-go that any custom ROM installation on any type of hardware isn’t advised, and may have unwanted side-effects.
