NASA’s TESS — Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite — has been scanning the skies for a little over a year now and it’s already returned a massive treasure trove of discoveries. One of its more recent discoveries also happens to be one of its most exciting.

In a new paper published in Nature Astronomy, scientists reveal the existence of three all-new exoplanets orbiting an old star just a stone’s throw from our own solar system. The star, called TOI 270, is surrounded by a trio of planets, including one rocky world and a pair of “sub-Neptune” worlds that scientists are eager to learn more about.

Right on schedule, Apple has released iOS 13 public beta 4 and iPadOS 13 public beta 4 following the recent release of iOS 13 developer beta 5 and the corresponding iPadOS version. Apple always releases public betas after developer betas to allow for the discovery of any major issues. Apparently, no major issues were discovered because, well, here we are. The new public beta is identical to the developer beta that was just rolled out though, and it irons out a bunch of wrinkles that have probably been driving you crazy. In other words, hurry up and install it right now.

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Avengers: Endgame is finally available as a digital download, which means we’re being treated to plenty of extra content. Just the other day, we saw an epic scene that should have never been cut from the movie in the first place. Or at least, they could have added it to that re-release cut that helped Endgame beat Avatar at the box office and become the highest-grossing movie of all time. The scene offers us a heartbreaking tribute to the hero who just died on the field while snapping his man-made Infinity Gauntlet to kill Thanos and his forces for good. But that Iron Man scene also contains a great gem that helps explain one of the film’s biggest mysteries.

Could Google’s innovative Pixel 4 gesture tracking be the next big thing?

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

One of the key features of Google’s upcoming Pixel 4 handset, which the company confirmed on Monday to get in front of the slew of leaks, is radar technology called Project Soli that will be able to track hand gestures in the air and then turn those gestures into executable commands. At the outset, the functionality will be limited, with the Soli-based controls only able to do things like snooze an alarm, silence a phone call or skip songs.

However, this potentially fun new way of interacting with your phone will either be a strange kind of afterthought that few people end up using and may even abandon altogether — or it could be the Next Big Thing, depending on who you ask.
