Huawei reportedly launching its own Google Maps replacement in October
Huawei’s slow untethering of itself from a reliance on Google, and specifically on Google’s Android mobile operating system, is sort of underway now — “sort of” being the key phrase since it’s still not clear if Huawei will stay cut off from Google indefinitely. But that’s also why the company has gone ahead and worked up a homegrown OS that it says it can bring to its handsets eventually, if needed, as a replacement for Android.
Meanwhile, after having finally unveiled that OS in recent days, Huawei is apparently about to take another step forward in its great decoupling from Google. Next up is a reveal supposedly coming in October of Huawei’s potential alternative to Google Maps, called Map Kit.

Airlines might rebrand 737 Max, even if Boeing doesn’t
Major airlines all over the globe have a serious problem on their hands, and it’s not just the fact that the Boeing 737 Max remains grounded months after a pair of deadly crashes claimed hundreds of lives. Once the defunct planes are once again deemed sky-worthy, airlines will have to convince travelers that it’s okay to climb aboard, and the name “737 Max” is a big red flag for fliers.
Boeing has toyed around with the idea of rebranding the planes, giving them a new designation and hoping that travelers will just put the whole tragic saga behind them, but the company hasn’t made any big moves on that front just yet. In the meantime, some airlines are reportedly considering calling the planes by a different name in order to regain the public’s trust.

Here’s what might have happened if the X-Men were in ‘Avengers: Endgame’
Now that Disney owns Fox, and thus has control of the X-Men and Fantastic Four characters once again, it’s only a matter of time before we see those characters join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sadly, all those legendary comic book creations were left out of the Infinity Saga, but if Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo were given an opportunity to use the X-Men, they know exactly what they would have done with them.
Before we go any further, I need to clarify two things. First, the X-Men were never going to be featured prominently in Endgame, or any of the MCU movies up to this point. Second, this was nothing more than a fun exercise, and (likely) has nothing to do with the future of the franchise. With that out of the way, let’s move on.

Apple’s new iOS 13 beta software just revealed the iPhone 11’s exact launch date
Remember when the biggest iPhone leaks came from Apple’s supply chain? Well, in an odd turn of events, some of the biggest iPhone leaks over the past few years have come directly from Apple. Case in point: the recent beta of iOS 13 strongly suggests that Apple will unveil its iPhone 11 lineup on Tuesday, September 10. This of course aligns quite well with a previous rumor claiming that Apple’s new iPhone 11 models will hit store shelves on September 20 after going up for preorder on Friday, September 13.
Originally brought to light via iHelp BR, the most recent iOS 13 beta includes some system files with some telling indicators. As evidenced by the below, iOS 13 beta 7 includes a screenshot of an iOS homescreen with the Calendar app showing Tuesday the 10th as the listed date.

Signing the ‘Game of Thrones’ creators is a very risky bet for Netflix, and here’s why
Any Emmys that David Benioff and Dan Weiss collect next month during the 71st annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony for their work shepherding HBO’s Game of Thrones into the international blockbuster series it ultimately became will effectively put a bow on this current phase of the showrunners’ careers.
Their next chapter, meanwhile, is about to begin, thanks to their newly signed $250 million deal with Netflix. But it’s a chapter thatmay be much more fraught with risk and uncertainty, despite the global hit that got them here.

Conor McGregor is spending his retirement beating up old men in bars
Conor McGregor, former two-division UFC champion and noted hater of mass transit, “retired” from the sport of MMA back in March of this year. It was the second time he had retired, as well as the second time he had retired via Twitter. Everyone expects him to return to the UFC octagon sooner rather than later, but a new report from TMZ sheds some light on what he’s been up to in the months since his latest retirement.
In April, less than a month after claiming he was done fighting, McGregor was under investigation due to a confrontation he had with a patron of a pub in Dublin, Ireland. At the time, not much was known about what exactly transpired between the MMA superstar and the elderly man he was accused of attacking, but now we have a video that shows the entire sad saga.
