Early video review shows off an unreleased flagship phone like nothing you’ve seen before
Samsung spent mountains of cash on catchy anti-Apple marketing to propel it to the top of the smartphone industry. Yet even when it got to the top, the company’s smartphones weren’t actually all that good; it’s amazing what spending tens of billions of dollars on advertising can do. The company’s earliest smartphones were a travesty, but things improved when Samsung began shamelessly copying Apple’s iPhones in every way it possibly could. Even still, Samsung’s lineup of Galaxy flagship phones felt cheap and plasticky until the company eventually relented and began using premium materials in place of flimsy plastic.
Now, in 2019, Samsung makes some of the best flagship smartphones on the planet. The latest examples are the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+, which features the company’s newest Infinity-O display and its tiny hole-punch camera. While the hole-punch selfie cam is cool, the defining characteristic of Samsung’s Infinity display is still the gorgeous curved edges on either side. They look great, they feel great, and they result in bezels that almost completely disappear. Almost…

Behold: This is the first leaked image that shows us what Apple’s iPhone 11 really looks like
We’re now exactly two weeks away from the official announcement of Apple’s next-generation iPhone 11 lineup. While the company hasn’t yet sent out any invitations to its upcoming iPhone event, the exact date of the press conference has already been revealed by Apple itself. As it did last year, Apple accidentally spilled the beans earlier this month when it mentioned the launch date in a beta version of its iOS 13 software. According to that leak, Apple plans to announce the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max on Tuesday, September 10th. As if we needed more confirmation than a leak that came directly from Apple, that announcement date aligns perfectly with the release date that was recently exposed by one of Apple’s own carrier partners. According to a SoftBank executive, Apple plans to release its iPhone 11 series handsets on Friday, September 20th. An announcement on the 10th would mean iPhone 11 preorders open on September 13th, and the phones will indeed then be released exactly one week later on September 20th.
As for what we can expect from Apple’s new iPhone 11 series handsets, it seems like nearly everything there is to know has already leaked. We’re sure that Apple will still have a few tricks up its sleeve during its big unveiling, but we already know about many of the new features that will be introduced on the new iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro phones. Huge camera upgrades will be the main focus, which is a page out of Apple’s playbook from 2016, when the iPhone 7 reused the same iPhone design for the third consecutive year. Apple will once again use the same iPhone design for three years in a row, but this time the design is the subject of some confusion.

Disney’s huge streaming deal crashed D23, but you can still take advantage of the discount
The Disney+ streaming service will only launch on November 12th, but you can already score a massive deal on it that lowers the entry price to less than $4 a month. The catch is that you have to subscribe to Disney’s D23 service before going for the Disney+ discount. But a free D23 membership also qualifies, so you don’t have to pay anything on top of the Disney+ subscription. Once that’s done you do have to pay $140 for three years of Disney+ service. You get to save $23 for every year, or a total of $69, which is the equivalent of one year of Disney+ access. Unsurprisingly, the deal generated lots of interest from consumers, and the D23 portal ended up crashing as a result.

Leaked photos give us our best look at Google’s unreleased Pixel 4
Google will probably unveil the Pixel 4 phones in early October, and ship them to buyers later that month. That’s what Google did with the previous Pixels, and we’d expect the company to adhere to the same launch schedule. But Google did change things this year, choosing to address the inevitable Pixel 4 rumors head on. In the past couple of months, Google made two massive revelations about the Pixel 4, which practically confirmed all the rumors. The company showed the world the new rear camera and rear panel design, as well as the Pixel 4’s other signature features on the front, including 3D face recognition support and radar-based gestures (Project Soli). Since these revelations were made, we saw photos showing the Pixel 4 in the wild a few times, but it’s the images that follow that give us the best look at Google’s upcoming smartphone.

NASA telescopes reveal secrets of the dark sides of ‘hot Jupiter’ exoplanets
Of all the types of exoplanets researchers have discovered in recent years with ever more powerful telescope technology, the so-called “hot Jupiters” might be the most interesting. They’re not the kind of planets we’d ever expect to find life on, but they’re so unlike anything we see in our own solar system that you can’t help but wonder what they might be like.
Hot Jupiter planets are, as their name suggests, gas giants like our own Jupiter, but much, much warmer. The planets orbit much closer to their host star than Jupiter does, and that causes temperatures to spike. Now, a new study using data from both the Spitzer telescope and the venerable Hubble reveals something very interesting about the strange, swirling masses of hot gas.

This could be the Google Pixel Watch of your dreams
A Pixel-branded smartwatch from Google has been hoped-for and speculated about for a while now, with the rumor mill heating up yet again earlier this year in tandem with I/O 2019, where a number of Wear OS smartwatches were front and center. Likewise, the past year or so has seen the release of almost two dozen Wear OS smartwatches from myriad brands — again, all fueling rumors of when Google would get around to releasing a Pixel Watch.
A newly published patent suggests that it actually might be sooner rather than later and reveals the design for what could be a Pixel Watch with a built-in camera.
