Robots are working retail jobs at Walmart now
Back in 2017, Walmart launched a pilot project that made some of its old-school brick-and-mortar retail stores seem like futuristic testbeds. The chain began trialing robots that could scan shelves to make sure items display the correct price and that they’re in stock, a test that started out in 50 stores.
This year, those robots will have rolled out to 350 Walmart stores, making robots an increasingly familiar presence in the store’s aisles as shoppers hunt for the retail giant’s signature low-price deals.

‘Hitman’ and ‘Tekken’ highlight Xbox Games with Gold for September
It was apparently the team over at PlayStation’s turn to trounce Xbox with September’s selection of free games for subscribers, as the Games with Gold for next month are underwhelming, especially compared to August’s. But I can’t be too disappointed, as the highlight of the month is unquestionably the first season of Hitman, which remains one of my favorite games of this entire generation. If you haven’t played it yet, grab it on Sunday.
I’m not as familiar with any of the other titles, but I know a lot of people who love the Earth Defense Force games, so here’s your chance to grab one for free. Oh, and there’s a Tekken game in there as well.

It’s finally time to name the Mars 2020 rover, and NASA wants suggestions
NASA’s Mars 2020 mission will officially kick off in July of next year, and there’s still plenty to do before that can happen. The spacecraft NASA will send to the Red Planet needs to be fully assembled and everyone needs to be checked and checked again to ensure there are no hiccups along the way. Oh, and the Mars 2020 rover still needs a name.
As it’s done in the past, NASA is enlisting the help of the public to come up with a moniker for its fancy new robot. Starting this week, NASA is requesting that K-12 students send in their name suggestions and short essays explaining why they think their nickname would be a good fit for the rover.

Apple’s iPhone 11 reveal will make your current iPhone worth about 30% less
Now that Apple has made it official and announced the date when its iPhone 11 series of devices will be unveiled at its annual September event, it’s time for a look at the other inevitability that comes with a reveal of new versions of Apple’s most important product.
We’re referring to the effect that the upcoming September 10th iPhone 11 event (which will take place in the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple HQ) will have on the value of older iPhone models — and how much of a bite the event will take out of the trade-in value of your current iPhone.

The next big ‘Pokemon’ mobile game is out now for free on iOS and Android
There were Pokemon games on mobile devices before Pokemon Go arrived, and several have been released in the years since, but none have had even a fraction of the impact as Niantic’s mega-hit. That might change this week, as DeNA and The Pokemon Company have teamed up for a new game called Pokemon Masters.
Pokemon Masters follows trainers who visit the artificial island of Pasio to compete in the Pokemon Masters League, which consists of a series of 3-on-3 tournaments where every trainer can only bring one Pokemon to battle. Unlike in other Pokemon games, instead of catching Pokemon, your goal is to team up with other trainers and their Pokemon (these are known as “sync pairs”) so you can be prepared for any challenge that awaits you.
