Researchers detail the most dangerous piece of iOS malware we’ve ever seen
Earlier this month, security researchers for Google’s Project Zero revealed a wild iOS exploit that would allow a malicious actor to completely take over a targeted device with absolutely no interaction from the device owner themselves. Apple ultimately patched the exploit, though there’s no indication that the exploit was actually used in the wild.
The same, however, can’t be said about a new piece of malware recently disclosed by security researchers working for Google’s Project Zero. In a jaw-dropping report, Ian Beer of Project Zero reveals how a collection of hacked websites distributed malware to any iOS device that visited the site in question. The malware relied upon quite a few 0-day vulnerabilities in iOS and reportedly impacted devices running iOS 10 through iOS 12.

Leak shows the OnePlus 7T Pro won’t be the big upgrade some were expecting
Apple’s iPhone 11 and Google’s Pixel 4 are undoubtedly the most anticipated phones that have yet to be announced this year, but OnePlus likely has another flagship to launch before 2019 ends as well. As it has over the past several years, OnePlus is expected to release an updated model of its latest handset with upgraded specifications and new features. But if you were expecting a brand new design, a recent leak suggests you’ll be disappointed.
On Friday, 91mobiles teamed up with Twitter’s @OnLeaks to unveil CAD-based renders of the rumored OnePlus 7T Pro, as well as the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition. Although some leaks showed off a new camera array and other subtle hardware tweaks, this design of the phone in this leak is identical to that of the OnePlus 7 Pro.

Several northern US states will be treated to a northern lights show this weekend
If you live in the United States you don’t often get the opportunity to see the phenomenon known as the Aurora Borealis, commonly referred to as the “northern lights.” However, this Labor Day weekend will be different, as NOAA is reporting that several northern states will get a chance to enjoy the rare evening light show.
More commonly seen in Canada and Alaska, the northern lights are the result of solar wind interacting with Earth’s atmosphere, producing brilliant bands of light in the sky. The colors can vary but are often bright green and blue.

This might be our best look yet at Apple’s redesigned next-gen iPad
With Apple’s media event officially going down on September 10, the company’s iPhone 11 lineup will understandably garner most of the attention. Still, there’s a good chance that Apple’s upcoming event will be far from a strictly iPhone-only affair.
Aside from the iPhone 11 and the likely introduction of the Apple Watch Series 5, we’ve been seeing a lot of credible rumors pointing to Apple introducing a brand new iPad this year with a 10.2-inch display. The rumored model may phase out the current 9.7-inch iPad and will reportedly offer up a bigger display in the same form factor thanks to smaller bezels.

Samsung may offer up to 1TB of internal storage on the Galaxy S11
The most surprising moment at the Samsung media event I attended earlier this month was when the company reps revealed that the Galaxy Note 10 would not feature a microSD card slot. The biggest Android vendor in the world just eliminated an expansion slot on a flagship phone, and even though the pricier Galaxy Note 10+ retained the feature, this seemed like a sign of things to come. And a new rumor adds credence to that idea.
SamMobile reports that the Galaxy S11 series will have four different storage options, starting at 128GB and climbing all the way up to 1TB. If Samsung does indeed end up removing the storage expansion slot from the Galaxy S11, this might help to quell some of the anger that will inevitably bubble up over the decision.
