In the opening scene of Amazon’s new Game of Thrones-style fantasy series Carnival Row — set in a kind of steampunk, alternate universe version of Victorian London that’s populated by humans as well as magical creatures — we see a persecuted group of fairies running for their lives. Countless changes are in store for Destiny 2 in the coming weeks, from the launch of the Shadowkeep expansion to the debut of Destiny 2: New Light, which will drop the price of the base game to free. But Bungie is also mixing up the game’s progression system substantially as well, giving players more tangible goals to reach for throughout each new season without having to depend on the right loot randomly dropping after a mission.

One way that Bungie will accomplish this is by adding a Fortnite-style battle pass (called a season pass in Destiny 2) which allows players to earn up to 100 ranks throughout the season, each of which comes with its own reward. There is a free track and a premium track each season, and if you want access to the premium track, you’ll have to pay $10. That $10 will also let you play all of the additional seasonal content Bungie brings to the game.

The coming week is shaping up to be pretty eventful for Samsung, thanks to a few key product launches. The Galaxy Watch Active 2, for example, is rumored to be heading for a Sept. 6 launch in South Korea — on the same day that Samsung will reportedly launch, at last, its first foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold.

At this point, the rumor is that Samsung will take advantage of the first day of the IFA 2019 consumer electronics trade show in Berlin — which runs from Friday, Sept. 6, to Wednesday, Sept. 11 — as a high-profile opportunity to attract attention for the Galaxy Fold’s much-anticipated launch. The company has supposedly fixed the design and software problems that doomed the original April launch, and while it’s monumentally important to ensure those earlier problems are indeed fixed, the company may also have another trick up its sleeve.
