We’re one step closer to the long-awaited, long-delayed launch of the Galaxy Fold, as pre-registrations for the phone have gone live on Samsung.com. These aren’t the same as preorders, so you can’t actually put any money down for the foldable device quite yet, but you can at least note your interest and join the waitlist.

Samsung announced back in July that the Galaxy Fold would finally be available in select markets in September, but failed to provide a release date. On September 2nd, we still don’t have a date, but the fact that pre-registrations have appeared on Samsung’s website suggests that more information is coming soon.

After dropping what turned out to be the worst Game of Thrones season in the show’s storied history, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss went silent, choosing not to face any of the harsh criticism Game of Thrones received. It’s D&D that Game of Thrones fans hated most after season 8, which failed to deliver the great storytelling that was expected from the best show on television. HBO defended the show, of course, sticking with Benioff and Weiss while making sure it was clear to everyone that studio execs did not interfere creatively in season 8 whatsoever. The excellent cast of Thrones also went on record to explain their thoughts after the polarizing finale, with some choosing to mildly criticize D&D and others sticking by the showrunners. But Benioff and Weiss were missing in action through all of this, even deciding to cancel their planned appearance at Comic-Con a few weeks ago. Now that more time has passed, D&D have finally started talking about season 8, giving you a nice reminder of why you hated them.

Deepfake apps that let you insert your face into videos or photos, are nothing new, but a Chinese developer created an application for iPhone that lets you superimpose your face in clips in as little as 8 seconds. Called Zao, the app became viral in China over the weekend, but not solely because it works so well. The face-swap app received near-instant criticism for its privacy policy that gives the developer ownership of all user-generated content.

Hurricane Dorian is now the most powerful storm on the planet, meeting all the criteria for weather experts to declare it a Category 5 hurricane. With the potential to devastate the East Coast of the United States, the storm has prompted evacuations and forced many local governments to declare states of emergency before it even arrives.

The outer bands of the storm are just beginning to whip against the Florida coast, and things are sure to get messy in a hurry. This past Friday, we told you that you had one last chance to take advantage of a killer deal that would get you Disney’s hotly-anticipated Disney+ streaming service for less than $4 per month. The service is set to launch in November just ahead of the holidays, and it will be priced normally at $6.99 per month. Truth be told, Disney’s upcoming new streaming service is still an incredible value at twice that amount, so $7 is a steal. You get unlimited access to hundreds and hundreds of hours of Disney content that can’t be streamed anywhere else, including Disney movies and shows, Pixar movies, and all the blockbuster films that Marvel Studios has released over the past decade. Beyond that, you’ll you get new original content that will only be available on Disney+, like The Mandalorian, a live-action Lady and the Tramp movie, a bunch of new Disney series, and tons of exclusive new series from Marvel Studios including WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, What If…?, Loki and so much more.

With all that in mind, it seems pretty insane that Apple plans to charge $9.99 per month for its upcoming TV+ streaming service that will have almost no content at all when it launches. Pay for a full year and it’ll cost you $69.99, or $5.83 per month — or you can hurry up and take advantage of an insane limited-time deal that slashes the price even lower.
