Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Active 2 will get some of the best Apple Watch features next year
There’s still a few weeks to go before Samsung’s newest wearable, the Galaxy Watch Active 2, will go on sale in the US, something Samsung confirmed last month about the device — which will also go on sale this Friday in South Korea, the same day, incidentally, that Samsung will supposedly release its first foldable smartphone.
Regarding the watch, we already knew that the wearable would be lacking the Apple Watch 4’s best features at launch. However, a new report confirms that the Active 2, which will include a digital rotating bezel, will add the ability to detect when its user has fallen as well as an ECG feature in the first quarter of 2020.

Sophisticated iPhone malware specifically targeted China’s Uyghur Muslims
Late last week, security researchers from Google’s Project Zero team provided us with fascinating details regarding a sophisticated exploit targeting iPhone users. The exploit itself relied upon a number of 0-day vulnerabilities and, somewhat curiously, indiscriminately installed malware on any device that happened to visit an infected website.
Once installed, the malware would collect a user’s photos, private messages, passwords, and even send GPS location data in real-time. Initially, the Project Zero team didn’t mention who was behind the malware or who it targeted, save for a cryptic message that it may have been designed to target a specific ethnic group.

The best iPhone 11 rival of 2019 will launch just one day before Apple’s new iPhones are released
Apple a few days ago sent out invitations for the iPhone 11 press conference, confirming rumors that said the event would take place on September 10th. iPhone 11 preorders will likely start on September 13th and the phones will ship to consumers a week later, on September 20th. Apple is yet to confirm these dates, but the company has stuck to the same iPhone launch playbook for years, so we’re pretty confident in that timeline. With that in mind, smartphone buyers who are not sure whether to choose Android or iOS this fall should be happy to hear the most important new Android handset of the year will be unveiled on September 19th, just a few days after Apple’s keynote.

A ‘Stranger Things’-style request from DARPA just freaked out the entire Internet
The plot of Stranger Things 3, the latest installment in Netflix’s hit original franchise, is centered in part around the myriad ramifications of the presence of an underground complex of tunnels and lab space built by Russians beneath Starcourt Mall in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. That warren of tunnels and space concealed soldiers and all manner of equipment meant to help open an interdimensional portal — the stuff sci-fi dreams are made of, right? In other words, definitely not the kind of thing you expect to see in real life.

The Boeing 737 Max saga isn’t even close to being over
It’s now been nearly six months since airlines around the world were forced to ground any 737 Max commercial jets in their respective fleets. The decision came after a pair of horrific crashes claimed the lives of hundreds, and Boeing’s flight control software was implicated as a cause of both accidents.
Now, despite toiling away at the problem — and rolling out software updates to its aircraft — it would appear Boeing hasn’t done enough to make its new jets flight-worthy. As CNN reports, American Airlines just extended flight cancellations for Boeing 737 trips through December 3rd. highlighting the seriousness of the problems.

Avengers fans already have theories about how Marvel will fix the huge Spider-Man cliffhanger
Sony and Disney confirmed a few days ago that the unthinkable has happened: Spider-Man will disappear from the MCU just as unexpectedly as he appeared. Sony believes it can make billion-dollar hits like Homecoming and Far From Home without the help of Marvel and the extended MCU. Sony, of course, is wrong and it apparently fails to completely understand what made these last two Spider-Man films so popular with fans. Marvel, on the other hand, built an amazing universe of characters and interconnected stories, and it initially did it all without being able to use one of its best heroes, Spider-Man.
While the two giants might reconcile in the future and bring Spider-Man back to the MCU, they both need to think of ways to deal with that massive cliffhanger at the end of Far From Home. And fans have already thought of solutions for Marvel to get out of its Spider-Man predicament.
