Video of Tesla in full self-driving mode gives us a glimpse into the future of travel
When a story involving Tesla’s Autopilot feature makes the news, it’s typically due to an accident or an offbeat video of a driver caught falling asleep at the wheel. Those incidents aside, the reality is that Tesla’s Autopilot has improved by leaps and bounds over the past few years. And though we’re seemingly still a long ways away from Level 5 autonomy becoming a mainstream feature, Tesla continues to roll out noticeable performance improvements with each passing year.
In light of that, a Tesla video from a few months ago is making the rounds yet again and is worth revisiting. The video shows a Tesla Model 3 in full self-driving mode handling all sorts of traffic situations as it cruises along a highway at speeds as high as 75 MPH. Notably, the video also shows the Model 3 handling off-ramps and on-ramps with relative ease.

Massive rock pillar in Utah resonates with the Earth, can withstand quakes
A popular rock-climbing destination in Utah, Castleton Tower dominates the surrounding landscape, standing nearly 400 feet tall like a stone skyscraper. It’s a gorgeous sight and, as researchers from the University of Utah just discovered, it is incredibly in tune with our planet.
Geologists from the school recently studied the massive stone pillar, using seismic sensors to better understand how the rock has withstood the forces of nature for so long. The tower, it turns out, vibrates in sync with the Earth, and it’s that resonance frequency that likely protects it from potentially devastating events such as moderate earthquakes.

Massive antitrust investigation of Google set to be announced next week
Less than a month ago, Makan Delrahim — an assistant attorney general in the US Justice Department — said during a public event that “a couple dozen state attorneys general have expressed an interest” in going after big tech companies.
That now seems to have been something of an understatement, given a new report out today from The Washington Post, and confirmed by other sources, that a massive antitrust investigation of Google is set to be unveiled next week, on September 9th. This follows the Justice Dept.’s own announcement back in July of an antitrust review of big tech companies, including the search giant.

Thieves who stole more than $200,000 worth of iPhones are in for a rude awakening
Over the years, we’ve seen thieves employ incredible ingenuity when it comes to making off with Apple products. Just last year, for example, a group of thieves in Georgia drilled a hole into a Best Buy ceiling and proceeded to rappel down — Mission Impossible style — and ultimately steal well over $100,000 worth of iPhones, Macs, and iPads.
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, we have a recent heist in Australia where a criminal gang used sledgehammers to break through the glass of an Apple retail store in Perth. In a story first brought to light by Perth Now, the thieves managed to abscond with more than $200,000 worth of stolen merchandise, a haul that mostly included iPhones.

LG imagined the best answer to the Galaxy Note 10, and it’s foldable
When the first Galaxy Note launched at IFA 2011, it was quite a head-turner. Samsung wasn’t the first company to manufacture a smartphone with a huge display, but the original Note turned out to be the best concept of its kind. Moreover, the phone had an additional signature feature, the built-in stylus, which was not available on any other device. Fast-forward to 2019, and the Note line still lives, in spite of that massive Note 7 battery disaster, with the Note 10 representing the best possible smartphone Samsung can mass-produce right now.
One thing did change over the years; the Note’s most iconic feature was no longer unique. As bezels kept shrinking, smartphone vendors were able to increase the screen size on all of their devices, matching and even surpassing the size of the most recent Note. That’s why it’s not all that surprising to see Samsung launch two different Note 10 models this year. With all that in mind, Note fans might appreciate the following LG smartphone design, which is easily the best answer to a phone like the Galaxy Note 10.

Hurricane Dorian downgraded to category 2, but could still pack a major punch
Like many storms of its kind, Hurricane Dorian has proven to be incredibly unpredictable. After first gaining enough strength to qualify as a category 5 storm over the weekend, Dorian slammed into the Bahamas and promptly stalled.
At one point, the storm was moving as slow as one mile per hour, dumping rain on the islands and blasting them with high winds while refusing to move on. Days ago, the storm was expected to slam into the side of Florida, and while the hurricane’s thick bands are whipping against the coast as we speak, its eye hasn’t come close to making landfall.

Four Pixel 4 models might have been leaked by a new FCC listing
The leaks and rumors about Google’s forthcoming Pixel 4 smartphone series, which we expect to be unveiled in early October, have been coming at a steady clip lately, with our previous reporting rounding up everything from leaked images to details about the new rear camera setup, as well as the phones’ radar-based gestures.
Based on new FCC listings that have just been discovered, meanwhile, it seems that at least four new handset models are set to be announced by Google soon, with the quartet presumably split somehow between Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL models.

Everyone knows that traditional corkscrews are annoying and outdated — the last thing you want when you’re trying to open a nice bottle of wine is to rip the center of the cork out by accident. Just push it into the top of the wine bottle, press the button on the top for about 1 second, and your bottle is open!
