Of all the features of our universe, black holes might be the most interesting, as well as the most frightening. These ultra-dense spots in space suck in everything around them, and once a black hole has you in its grasp, there’s quite literally no escaping it.

For a long time, scientists have believed that black holes are impossibly tiny dots of incredible mass, called a singularity. This explanation meshes pretty well with our understanding of physics and how objects move an interact in space. But what if black holes are something completely different? A pair of researcher papers published in The Astrophysical Journal argues that point, and if you can wrap your head around it, it’s one heck of an idea.

I had initially thought that October looked suspiciously quiet for Netflix, especially with the launch of Apple TV+ and Disney+ right around the corner. But all it took was one announcement to get me back on board: BoJack Horseman is returning for its sixth season at the end of the month. Sadly, this will also be the final season of the critically acclaimed animated series, and Netflix is also splitting it into two parts, the second of which will air in January.

Other noteworthy originals include the third season of Big Mouth (another beloved cartoon series), a dramedy called Living With Yourself (starring Paul Rudd playing two characters, sort of), and of course El Camino, the Breaking Bad movie which will presumably bring an end to Jesse Pinkman’s story once and for all.

Sony and Disney surprised fans this past Friday, announcing that a new deal covering the future of Peter Parker. Just like that, Spider-Man was back in the MCU, and Marvel already revealed the launch date for Spider-Man 3 — July 16th, 2021 — which inserts the film into the crowded MCU Phase 4 schedule. We also learned that Marvel got the rights to Tom Holland’s beloved hero for one other untitled MCU film, which can only be Avengers 5 or another crossover of similar magnitude. We then learned that Marvel boss Kevin Feige might be writing Spider-Man out of the MCU with the help of those two movies since Sony still wants to move forward with its own cinematic universe built around Spider-Man. While that might seem like bad news, possibly suggesting a bitter-sweet exit for the hero, that won’t necessarily be the case. It turns out that Marvel and Sony have already hashed out the details surrounding how they’ll share Spider-Man in the coming years.
