Spotify’s claim that Apple is thwarting competition draws attention from Congress

NASA’s InSight robot is fighting against Mars to save a vital instrument

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

NASA’s InSight lander has been resting safely on Mars for nearly a year now, and it’s doing some seriously great work. Most of the robot’s suite of sensitive instruments have been working as intended, sending back data and recordings of seismic activity on the dusty planet. However, one of the tools, called the “mole,” has fallen well short of expectations.

The instrument is supposed to hammer itself into the surface, pushing itself to a depth of up to 16 feet to gather temperature readings. Unfortunately, the probe has failed to bury itself any deeper than about a foot, but NASA thinks it knows why.

iPhone 11 Pro Max is now the top-rated phone by Consumer Reports

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Two weeks after the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max launched, Consumer Reports has named the most expensive model the best phone on the market. And just to drive home the publication’s fondness for the latest smartphones from Apple, the slightly cheaper and smaller iPhone 11 Pro came in second place.

Consumer Reports explains that the battle for the top spot was highly contested, as just six points separated the first place phone and the tenth place. Nevertheless, despite retaining a similar design to last year’s phones, Apple made “some key improvements that helped lift the phones into the top two spots.”

Apple definitely needs to copy this awesome Pixel 4 feature

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Google will launch the Pixel 4 phones in less than two weeks, but the cat is out of the bag. With each passing day, we learn more details about the handsets, and the leaks are more thorough than last year. That’s because several people had access to the phone and were able to extract and inspect some of the Pixel 4’s new apps, including the Camera, Recorder, Motion Sense, and Assistant. Of those, there’s really just one feature that I’d like Apple to copy for the iPhone, especially now that the app’s functionality has leaked in full.
