Back in the day, a new macOS release (or OS X if you want to be particular) was a huge event for Mac users. But as the world shifted from desktop to mobile computing en masse, Apple arguably started to neglect the Mac. While iOS would routinely receive a boatload of new features, macOS updates started becoming less and less compelling.

In recent years, though, Apple has picked up the pace a bit. And while new macOS releases still aren’t as exciting as iOS releases, they’ve become more compelling than you might remember. With that said, Apple today released macOS Catalina, a desktop update with a number of new features that you’ll definitely want to download as soon as possible.

When 44-year-old Tina Springer was shot in the leg with a handgun while riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle stopped at a train last Thursday, the culprit was easy to find. A yellow lab belonging to the driver, 79-year-old Brent Parks, is the alleged “shooter.” The canine apparently jumped from the back seat of the vehicle and somehow activated the trigger of the loaded firearm sitting in the center console.

Springer, who is Parks’ caretaker, was struck with the .22 caliber round in the left thigh and required emergency services and a trip to a local medical center.

Joker crushed its opening weekend at the box office, raking in $93.5 million in the United States alone. It didn’t hurt that Joker didn’t really have any major rivals to worry about over the weekend, although the film would have probably still made the most money regardless of competition. It’s absolutely not what you’d expect from a DC superhero movie, and don’t be surprised if you see people complaining about it in the days to come. This Joker is meant to be something entirely different from anything done before in Batman movies.

It’s an amazing origin story that would fit well with whatever happens next in the DC Universe, and one worth exploring in a sequel. However, there are no credits scenes to explain what might come next, and we don’t even know whether or not we’ll ever see Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker in any future DCU films in the future. Before we explain why, you should know that several spoilers follow below, so you might want to bookmark this post for later if you haven’t already seen the movie.
