Here are 10 of the hottest shows of October so far on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and network TV
I have to be completely honest: I had never even heard of Netflix’s Raising Dion before I saw it skyrocket to the top of TV Time’s latest “Shows on the Rise” list. It’s great that Netflix has so much original content these days, but things tend to get lost in the shuffle as a result. But now, after watching the trailer, I seriously can’t wait to check out Raising Dion and it has catapulted to the top of my list of shows to check out. The first season was just released in its entirety this past Friday, and it’s a superhero origin story that appears to be unlike anything else we’ve seen. It addresses the everyday struggles of a single mother who discovers her son Dion has powers soon after the death of the child’s father, played by Michael B. Jordan.
What other hidden gems might we discover on this week’s Shows on the Rise list? Let’s take a look.

New leak suggests Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro launch is imminent
Apple hasn’t announced a press conference for October, but the company is widely expected to host one this month, just as it has done in previous years. Aside from the iPhone, Apple Watch, and new entry-level iPad that Apple unveiled last month, the company is expected to unveil a few more new products that will hit store shelves in time for the holiday season. Obvious candidates are the 2019 iPad Pro tablets and the Mac Pro — although the latter was already announced a few months ago. On top of that, we might see other new products debut at the show, with rumors having detailed several unannounced devices like the AirPods 3, a Tile-like object finder, and a new 16-inch MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro has appeared in an increasing number of leaks lately, with the most recent one suggesting the product is indeed about to launch.

Sony officially confirms PlayStation 5 name, new controller, and release timeframe
Sony surprised us all earlier this year when it revealed a bevy of details about the next-gen PlayStation in an interview with Wired, and now, six months later, Sony opened the floodgates. On Tuesday, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan announced in a blog post on the PlayStation Blog that the next PlayStation will launch in the 2020 holiday season, alongside the next Xbox. And, unsurprisingly, it will indeed be called the PlayStation 5.
But that wasn’t all, as Ryan also provided an update on the controller that will ship with the PS5. And it sounds like it will be a significant upgrade over its predecessor, just as the DualShock 4 was for the PS4.

Amazon is still giving away free money, and it couldn’t be easier to get
Another week, another reminder of what is easily the best deal on the entire internet right now: Amazon wants to give you free money, and you’re flat-out crazy if you don’t take it. Seriously, why on Earth would anyone pass up free money!?
All you have to do to get your free money from Amazon is go to this page and click the button to add the promotion to your account. Then buy $50 worth of Amazon gift cards and a $15 credit will be added to your account within a few days. That’s literally all there is to it! Be sure to add the $50 gift card balance to your own account since you’re obviously going to spend that money on Amazon at some point anyway, and you’ll end up with $65 despite only spending $50. The only caveat is that the promotion is only available to customers who have never bought Amazon gift cards before on the Amazon website. A bunch of people continue to email us because they fail to read far enough to see the caveat, so hopefully you’ve stuck with us to this point. If you’ve purchased physical Amazon gift cards in a store as opposed to Amazon’s site, you’re fine and you can still take advantage of the promo.
You can also try to use the coupon code 19GIFTCARD at checkout instead of going to the special promotion page mentioned above, but people have much better luck with the first method. Just head to the promo page, click the button, and buy $50 worth of Amazon gift cards. If you don’t see a button on that page to add the promotion to your account, it means you’re not eligible for the promo, likely either because you’ve purchased gift cards from Amazon in the past or because you’re outside the US.

Behold: This is the all-screen iPhone 12 Pro of our dreams
Apple’s new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max have finally been released, which means a few things have taken place. First and foremost, it means people can now finally buy the most impressive iPhone models Apple has ever created, featuring class-leading cameras and dramatic battery life improvements that might be even more impressive than the cameras to many users. It also means that more than a year of leaks and rumors surrounding the iPhone 11 series has finally come to an end. But the release of the iPhone 11 and it’s Pro counterparts also paves the way for rumors surrounding next year’s iPhone 12 series, and the first big report from a credible source has already hit the web. According to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who happens to be the most plugged-in Apple insider on the planet, next year’s new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro phones will feature a new design with flatter edges that are more in line with the old design Apple had used on the iPhone 4, iPhone 5, and iPhone SE series phones.
It’ll be great to see Apple go back to an iPhone design with flat edges. Many have repeatedly argued that Apple’s iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 designs were the best smartphone designs the company has ever produced, and we tend to agree. If nothing else, they were much better differentiated from the rest of the smartphone market. That said, there’s still a huge question surrounding the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro series phones that’s far more important than whether or not Apple will flatten the metal edges on the phone: What will Apple’s iPhone 12 display look like?

Apple Watch Series 5 is even cheaper with a Medicare plan’s fitness subsidy
Apple Watch Series 5 is the latest and most expensive Apple Watch model that’s available from Apple. However, the company also kept in inventory the Apple Watch 3, which starts at just $199, making it an incredible deal, especially if you compare it with similarly priced alternatives. Going forward, the Apple Watch might be even cheaper as private Medicare companies have started working with Apple to subsidize the price of the wearable handset.
