Huawei is about to unveil an all-screen phone design like nothing we’ve ever seen before
Huawei recently unveiled the Mate 30 series, which includes the Mate 30 Pro flagship that’s supposed to compete directly against flagship phones like the iPhone 11 and Galaxy Note 10. However, the handset has a huge problem in western markets, and that’s the software. While it may all be based on Android 10, the Mate 30 phones ship without Google apps, which means they offer an Android experience unlike anything Android users expect in western markets like the US. Even worse, there’s no easy or safe way to preload Google apps on the phone, so unless Trump lifts the ban on Huawei, you’d have to get used to Huawei’s version of Android 10.
While it’ll be a while until Huawei can impress us with its software, the brand certainly seems ready to take plenty of risks on the hardware side to lure in more customers. And Huawei is about to launch an all-screen phone with a design that’s unlike anything the world has ever seen.

Watch the OnePlus 7T Pro live stream unveiling right here at 11AM ET
Just two weeks after OnePlus took the stage in India to officially reveal the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus TV, the vendor is holding another event this Thursday in London at 11:00 AM EST / 4:00 PM BST. Not only will European consumers get pricing information for the OnePlus 7T, but we also expect to see the OnePlus 7T Pro in the flesh for the very first time. It’s unclear what markets other than Europe the phone will launch in, though.
In addition to the OnePlus 7T Pro, we should also be introduced to the 7T Pro McLaren Edition, which will follow in the footsteps of the ultra-premium model OnePlus added to the OnePlus 6T line last year. The McLaren Edition will have a unique look, as well as some internal upgrades, such as more RAM and storage.

Two ‘Joker’ theories explain why the ending is so fascinating
The newest superhero sensation is playing in theaters as we speak, though it lacks any of the themes you’d associate with superhero movies. IN fact, there aren’t even any superheroes in the movie, and we don’t have any CGI-filled comic-like battle sequences. Instead, we have a deeply disturbing origin story for the Joker, if that’s even really what we’re watching. Joker is dark, controversial, and divisive because that’s what Todd Phillips wanted it to be. It doesn’t fit with any of the existing Batman or DC films, and it doesn’t have to. It doesn’t need a sequel, although one would certainly do well at the box office, and could position this Joker with the rest of the DC universe.
The ending of the film is really what has divided fans, as it can be interpreted in several ways depending on what you got from the story. In what follows, we’ll show you two fan theories that attempt to explain the finale in different ways, proving that you absolutely have to see the film and make up your mind about what’s happening. Mind you, plenty of spoilers follow below.

A special version of the upcoming OnePlus 7T Pro might be the most expensive OnePlus phone ever
OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 7T a month ago, a phone that’s ready to deliver a few decent upgrades over its predecessors without killing your smartphone budget. But the regular 7T isn’t the only new handset that OnePlus is about to sell in stores this winter, according to rumors. An insider who has provided accurate information about OnePlus devices in recent years is back with pricing details for the Pro version of the handset, which will also come in a special McLaren Edition version. That OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition will be the most expensive phone OnePlus ever made — in fact, it’ll be even more expensive than the iPhone 11.

Please stop pretending iOS 13’s Apple Maps update will make anyone ditch Google Maps
Google Maps was just in the news again, this time because people managed to confirm that the app will soon be getting the dark mode feature users have been eagerly awaiting. Just before that, the app made the rounds on tech blogs thanks to the arrival of another new feature that people had been clamoring for: incognito mode. What’s most interesting to me personally about stories surrounding Google Maps is how popular they are. There are plenty of things that cause traffic spikes on BGR and on other tech news sites, and stories about Google Maps are definitely among them. It’s obviously one of the most popular apps in the world, but it’s just surprising to me how eager people are to learn about new features coming to Google’s free mapping app. What’s not surprising to me, however, is that the app’s popularity sometimes drives tech news sites to go overboard when it comes to coverage.
I came across a perfect example this past weekend when I stumbled upon a story with the headline “This Apple Maps update might be what finally pulls people away from Google Maps.”
