Watch NASA astronauts spacewalking live right here
Two NASA astronauts are currently outside the International Space Station on the second of several planned spacewalks to replace batteries affixed to the outside of the spacecraft. The duo, Andrew Morgan and Christina Koch, are currently maneuvering around the exterior of the space station as they remove old batteries and attach new, more efficient replacements.
As is often the case, NASA is live streaming the entire event from start to finish, giving us a glimpse at what it takes to walk in space and perform maintenance on one of the most complex pieces of machinery ever sent into space. You can watch it live right here.

Galaxy S11 is getting a big processor upgrade, but it still won’t touch the iPhone 11
Of all the phones that were launched in the second half of 2019, only three of them feature next-gen processors. And of those, only two are chips we’re actually going to see in use throughout 2020. Some versions of Galaxy Note 10, all of Apple’s iPhone 11 models, and the Mate 30 flagships from Huawei all pack 7nm EUV processors, although it’s just Apple’s A13 Bionic and Huawei’ Kirin 990 chips that are really next-gen components. Samsung will likely launch a new Exynos chip for the upcoming Galaxy S11 smartphone, and it’ll use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 for S11 versions in the United States and China. The 865 will also power several other 2020 flagship handsets like the OnePlus 8 and Pixel 5, although the chip will not be unveiled until later this year. Nevertheless, a well-known leaker says the Snapdragon 865 will be an improvement, but it still won’t be able to touch the iPhone 11’s performance.

Apple’s advantage over Android phone makers is about to get even bigger
Apple’s iPhones always crush their Android-powered counterparts in key benchmark tests. In fact, new Android flagship phones have been known to fall short of iPhones that are one year old, or even two years old. Take this year’s iPhone 11 series, for example. The flagship iPhone 11 Pro scores around 5,500 in the single-core Geekbench test, while multi-core scores tend to fall between 13,700 and 13,800. To put that in perspective, the OnePlus 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ both feature 2019 Snapdragon processors and a whopping 12GB of RAM, which is triple the 4GB of RAM in the iPhone 11 Pro. So how do they perform in the same Geekbench tests? Single-core scores for both phones are in the 3,000 range, while multi-core scores are in the low 11,000s.
There are plenty of factors that contribute to the iPhone’s performance advantages over Android smartphones, but they’re almost all accounted for with one simple statement: Apple controls as much of the iPhone as it can, on a component level. Apple doesn’t just develop a new iPhone design and then stuff other companies’ software and parts into it. Instead, Apple designs the hardware, it develops its own iOS software, and it even makes its own A-series chipsets to power the devices. By developing all of these key pieces side by side, the end result is far better optimized than a phone made by an Android vendor can ever hope to be. Now, according to a new report, Apple is looking to take control of yet another key piece of the iPhone puzzle.

Google Maps just got an awesome new feature I hope I’ll never have to use
I’m sad to say I’ve never really considered what it means for a person with a serious vision impairment to get from point A to point B without being able to rely on what’s probably the most important basic human sense. That is, I never considered it until I saw Google’s new feature that was just added to Google Maps. You probably haven’t either, unless you’re either affected or directly exposed to it. I obviously hope I’ll never have to use the feature, but I’m sure glad it’s there to help others who are about to benefit tremendously from it.
