Roku users can get the Apple TV app starting today
Just in time for the launch of Apple TV+ in a little less than three weeks, Roku announced that starting today its users will be able to add the Apple TV app to their service for the first time.
This has been a long-awaited addition to the platform, which means users will now be able to access content like TV shows and more from Apple, in addition to content from their iTunes video library. Likewise, Apple’s new Netflix-like TV streaming service launches on November 1, and it too will be available through the Apple TV app on the Roku platform.

iOS 13.1.3 now available to download on iPhone and iPad
Apple has been seeding iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2 beta releases at a furious pace in recent weeks, and we expect them to be available for all iPhone and iPad users soon, but in the meantime, the iOS 13.1 updates are still rolling out. On Tuesday, Apple released iOS 13.1.3 and iPadOS 13.1.3 with another round of bug fixes for what is turning out to be one of the messier software updates in recent memory for Apple.
The release notes point to a wide variety of issues that Apple is addressing in 13.1.3, including an issue that prevents the phone from ringing or vibrating for incoming calls, an issue that prevents opening meeting invites in Mail, Voice Memos recordings not downloading from iCloud backup, and more.

Scientists suggest creating a detailed 3D map of Earth before we mess everything up even more
Humans are affecting Earth’s climate, and there’s a wealth of scientific evidence to support that fact. We’ve already begun to see some seriously troubling trends that may be associated with our altering of the climate, including mass die-offs of ocean coral, widespread drought, and increasingly powerful and unpredictable storm systems.
With all that in mind, scientists from Colorado State University are doing what they can to preserve a record of Earth before things too out of hand. It’s called The Earth Archive, and there’s a good reason why it should be a high priority.

Ryan Reynolds hilariously trolls Marvel as writers hint that ‘Deadpool 3’ is in the works
‘Deadpool’ star Ryan Reynolds has been trolling Marvel even before Disney acquired Fox, a move that makes it possible to bring Deadpool to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Soon after the deal was done, we heard that Disney would keep Deadpool as is going forward, even though the studio will reboot X-Men and Fantastic Four, characters whose rights were owned by Fox as well. At the time, Reynolds took advantage of the news to tease Deadpool’s MCU arrival, although he hinted that the foul-mouthed superhero might not arrive until sometime in Phase 5. None of the Phase 4 titles include any hint of a Deadpool presence, and we do have quite a few MCU adventures planned for the next phase. With that in mind, the actor trolled fans again by posting on Instagram a photo of him taken at Marvel Studios, where he went to audition for the role of “Anthony Stark” before being escorted out of the building.

The 8 biggest announcements from Google’s Pixel 4 event
Well, we can’t say there were very many surprises in store during today’s big Made by Google ’19 event, but it sure was action-packed. Google’s second-largest event of the year is now behind us and there were plenty of big announcements made by company executives on stage in New York City on Tuesday. There’s really no question whatsoever that the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL were the stars of the show, and there’s also no question that they’re the best smartphones Google has ever made by a wide margin. Sure they have big bezels that look like they’re straight out of 2015, but if you can get past the somewhat dated design you’ll find two terrific smartphones with great specs, phenomenal cameras, and perhaps most importantly, immediate access to future Android updates as soon as they’re released.
Of course, the new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are just the tip of the iceberg. Google made plenty of big announcements pertaining to new hardware products as well as nifty new software features, and we’ve rounded up all the most important news right here in this post.
