iPhone 11 Pro vs. Pixel 4: First camera comparisons might surprise you

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Google’s Pixel 3 may have set a new bar for mobile photography last year, but Apple’s next-gen iPhone 11 Pro has been trouncing all comers in head-to-head photo battles since hitting store shelves a few weeks ago. At this point, it’s fair to say that the iPhone 11 Pro — with its Night mode capabilities and the recently released Deep Fusion feature that was added to the latest iOS beta update — is the best camera you can get in a smartphone today.

That said, one of the great things about the tech space is that nothing is ever stagnant, and companies are constantly battling to one-up each other. In turn, there was a lot of hype leading up to Google’s Pixel 4 unveiling yesterday. And while the Pixel 4 won’t fall in the hands of consumers until later this month, Tom Warren of The Verge got his hands on one and put Google’s next-gen Pixel up against Apple’s top of the line iPhone 11.

The Pixel 4’s most impressive new feature is a sophisticated gimmick no one really needs

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Google announced a Pixel 4 feature no iPhone 11 model would have several weeks before Apple actually unveiled the new iPhones. Then we saw it leaked in great detail, at which point I told you that it’s going to be a gimmicky trick. Now that the Pixel 4 series is official, and Google practically confirmed almost all the rumors that preceded the phone’s launch, I’ve changed my mind about it, slightly. It’s a super sophisticated feature that deserves praise and recognition, but it’s still a gimmick that we don’t need on the Pixel 4 or any other phone, at least not in the current format.

Piranha teeth are even more incredible than we thought

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Piranha fish are incredible animals that have gotten a bit of a bad reputation over the years. Though relatively small, the fish sport jaws lined with incredibly sharp teeth that they can use to tear flesh from bone. The fish, which are actually omnivores and not strict carnivores, don’t often mess with humans, but there’s no denying that their fearsome bite makes them a threat, especially if food is scarce.

Now, a new study published in Evolution & Development reveals that the teeth of various piranha species are even more unique than scientists first realized. The fish, it seems, are basically tiny tooth factories.

Brilliant ‘Succession’ theory explains what really happened in the season 2 finale

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

We may have been looking for the next Game of Thrones in the wrong places, because it’s already airing on HBO. Succession might lack the epic battles that make the fantasy genre so great, but it does nail the family politics. From the pilot all the way to the shocking finale of season 2, you won’t be able to put it down.

And you’ll love the characters for the same very reasons you’ll hate them, from the authoritarian family head and leader of a massive media corporation Logan Roy (Brian Cox) who can’t let go, to his four children all seeking to prove their worthiness to their father, and all the high ranking minions and acolytes that we get to meet in this two-season journey. With season 3 set to launch in 2020, we have a long time to digest what happened and imagine how the show will move forward, given everything we know about all of these Machiavellian characters. One fan has a brilliant theory about what we just saw in the recently aired season 2 finale, and what may have actually happened. Spoilers will follow, so tread carefully.

Taco Bell just recalled 2.3 million pounds of beef after a customer found a metal shaving in his meal

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Taco Bell’s famous tag line is “run for the border,” but a recent discovery might make “run to the hospital” a little bit more appropriate.

The nationwide fast food chain earlier today said that it’s recalling 2.3 million pounds of seasoned beef after a customer recently discovered a metal shaving in their meal. As someone who has long enjoyed Taco Bell’s adventurous menu items, I must concede that metal shavings is where I draw the line.

The 15 most-watched shows this week on major streamers like Netflix

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The fourth and final season of Mike Schur’s NBC comedy The Good Place debuted last month, three years after its 2016 premiere and after pulling off an admirable feat over its string of seasons.

The show made an enjoyable, successful comedy out of heady stuff like ethics and the question of what happens after you die, thus adding a quirky ensemble drama to NBC’s lineup topped by Ted Danson and Kristen Bell that also dealt with other potentially thorny, existential questions, like — what does it mean to be a good person? How does one go about pursuing that ideal?
