NASA astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir are making history today. The pair are currently carrying out the first all-female spacewalk in the history of the International Space Station, performing some much-needed maintenance on the high-tech orbiting laboratory.

As is often the case, the spacewalk is being livestreamed by NASA, with cameras attached to both astronauts as well as external cameras affixed to the ISS itself. You can watch the lengthy operation live as it happens right here.

Earlier this week, a Galaxy S10 user discovered that her husband was able to unlock her phone despite the fact that his fingerprint hadn’t been registered with the device. It turns out that the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the S10 can recognize the 3D patterns that appear on certain silicone screen protectors as fingerprints, which means that anyone can unlock the phone if the fingerprint was registered when the screen protector was on.

Once news of the issue began to spread, Samsung quickly notified the press that it was working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, and on Friday, the South Korean company released a full statement.

We can’t tell you how happy we are that Google finally announced its Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL flagship smartphones. It’s not that we’re actually any more excited about these new smartphones than any other new handsets that have been released in the recent past, though there’s no question that Google’s new phones are impressive. No, we’re happy because the countless leaks and rumors have finally come to an end. A few leaks here and there are terrific because they give early adopters something to look forward to. But in the case of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, it was overkill and we think plenty of people out there were just as sick and tired of all the leaks as we were. Now that the new Pixel 4 phones are official, we can all just relax and enjoy them.

Thanks to all of the aforementioned leaks and rumors, nothing Google announced earlier this week pertaining to the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL came as much of a surprise. In fact, just about everything else the company unveiled at its big hardware event had also leaked. But the Pixel 4 phones were obviously the biggest news from the show this past Tuesday, and now we have less than one week to go before they finally hit store shelves.

Apple refreshed the AirPods earlier this year, but that was only a minor upgrade for the iconic wireless earphones. Google has been porting Waze’s best feature to Google Maps for a while now, but only in a limited fashion and only on Android. That’s the crowd-sourced incident reports feature that tuned Waze into a popular choice for people who drive a lot. Google has been adding support for some of the incident types available in Waze to the Android version of Maps, and users are about to get even more options. Depending on the age of any given house, the basement beneath it can range from comfortable and cozy to dungeon-like. Still, even the most ancient unfinished basements would be a big step up from what one Iowa family discovered when they ventured to the bottom floor of their home this week.

The Lestina family found a true horror show resting beneath their feet as animal blood, bones, and blobs of fat covered the floor of their basement to a depth of nearly five inches. In searching for the source of the gore officials didn’t have to look far, as the home sits right next to a meat locker where animals are routinely slaughtered.
