Travel in style with the Amex Green Card’s 30k welcome points, luggage credit and airport lounge perks
BGR has partnered with The Points Guy for our coverage of credit card products. BGR and The Points Guy may receive a commission from card issuers.
Please note: the offers mentioned below are subject to change at any time and some may no longer be available.
There’s a lot of history behind the iconic American Express® Green Card, which made headlines in recent days for its splashy relaunch. Setting aside the elevated 30,000-point welcome bonus and the slew of other perks that should get many travelers pretty excited, the relaunch Amex that celebrated was sorely needed for a card that’s actually 50 years old this year. It first launched back in 1969, when the Beatles were still together and the same year mankind first stepped onto the moon. At the time, travelers loved it, because it was an alternative to carrying around traveler’s checks.
And while the focus seemed to increasingly shift to Amex’s more luxe Platinum and Gold cards, the Amex Green Card’s relaunch has brought new perks and rewards that should once again excite anyone who travels more than once a year. One travel publication has gone so far as to call the refreshed card a “travel game-changer.”

A brand new hero we might see in ‘Avengers 5’ was once set to debut in ‘Infinity War’
Avengers: Endgame might not be real cinema according to a few old men, but it’s certainly one of the most exciting movies ever made. It took Marvel ten years to put it together, accomplishing something that had never been done before. Some 20 movies were intertwined to create Infinity War and Endgame, before Spider-Man: Far From Home concluded the Infinity Saga. And Marvel isn’t stopping anytime soon, having already announced its plans for Phase 4.
Those plans don’t currently include a new team-up movie, but Avengers 5 must be coming eventually, maybe as soon as the next MCU phase. What Endgame proved is that fans are hungry for the storytelling these movies deliver, and Marvel just can’t afford to stop making more Avengers sequels. When the next Avengers does happen, we’ll have plenty of new team members to replace the fallen and retired, including a superhero everyone has been waiting to see. But this specific hero almost made his debut before the last Phase ended.

Tesla just beat GM to become the most valuable car company in the country
It’s not an overstatement to say that Tesla’s earnings report this week was jaw-dropping. With analysts expecting the electric automaker to post a quarterly loss, Tesla posted a profit of $1.91 per share. Suffice it to say, analysts were completely caught by surprise.
“While we remain concerned on 2020 momentum / profitability, we acknowledge this was an outstanding quarter relative to lowered expectations despite mixed headwinds which we expect could increase as Model Y launches,” an Evercore ISI analyst said of Tesla’s earnings report. Other analysts, meanwhile, echoed that sentiment.

Apple and Amazon might be rivals, but if Apple’s new streaming service is going to succeed, it needs to be available on as many platforms as possible from the jump. One of the Galaxy S11’s signature features may have already leaked
Now that the Pixel 4 is available in stores, we’re pretty much done with major new smartphone releases for the year. The upcoming Motorola Razr foldable is the only exciting thing left in 2019 when it comes to new phone releases, but it’s more of a niche product than even the Galaxy Fold turned out to be.
The next flagship phone to hit stores will be Samsung’s Galaxy S11, which should be unveiled next February. The first S11 rumors have already started trickling in, and the newest leak reveals a potential signature feature.

HBO Max to offer a cheaper ad-supported tier by 2021
There’s a lot we still don’t know about HBO Max, but there’s no denying that AT&T has extremely high hopes for its soon to be released streaming service. To this point, AT&T is hoping to net upwards of 80 million subscribers by 2025. It’s certainly an ambitious goal given that it took Netflix nearly 10 years to reach the 80 million threshold.
All that said, HBO Max does have a lot going for it in terms of content as it will house everything currently available on HBO along with a lot more content from a variety of top-tier sources, including TNT, CNN, Adult Swim, and more.

Netflix just gave us a better look at what could be our next Game of Thrones-like obsession
Netflix will soon release the first trailer for its ambitious Game of Thrones alternative, and it will also hopefully tell us when The Witcher is supposed to start streaming. So far, the company only released a teaser trailer that definitely isn’t considered the first trailer for the series. That footage is supposed to arrive late next week, as Netflix takes the stage at the Lucca comics festival in Italy. Ahead of the event, we got to learn more details about the series from some of the main executives behind The Witcher since the embargo lifted and an Italian newspaper ran an extensive profile on the show. Separately, Netflix released several official images from The Witcher, as well as behind-the-scenes shots that reveal more details about the epic fantasy that’s about to be released.
