‘Game of Thrones’ showrunners walk away from their ‘Star Wars’ trilogy
Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss made the news earlier this week, after speaking at the Austin Film Festival and casually revealing they had no idea of what they were doing at various points during the creation of what’s still the best show on television. The two came under fire for the way they handled the final season of the show. The writing was sub-par for most of the show, and fans trolled Benioff and Weiss with the help of Google and started two petitions that went viral. The most popular one was asking HBO to remake season 8 with more competent writers, while a second petition targeted Disney, asking the studio to put a halt to the Star Wars trilogy that D&D were supposed to make. While HBO will not remake season 8, Star Wars fans should be happy to hear that Benioff and Weiss have officially stepped away from the project.

After AirPods Pro, Apple might release more products in the coming days
Apple on Monday unveiled its newest, most sophisticated AirPods so far, even earlier than recent leaks had suggested. There was no special media event for the third-gen wireless earphones in Apple’s history, with the AirPods Pro having been announced via a regular press release and a new landing page on Apple’s website. But AirPods Pro isn’t the only new product expected from Apple this fall, and the company might continue to unveil new products in the coming days.

The Sun is the best jack-o-lantern
Halloween is rapidly approaching and that means there’s a whole lot of pumpkins meeting their demise at the hands of ambitious carvers. NASA isn’t in the pumpkin carving business, but that doesn’t mean the space agency isn’t celebrating the scariest day of the year. In a timely post on its Facebook page, NASA shared a particularly spooky image of the Sun, and it sure looks familiar.
The image was captured by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory which is currently orbiting Earth. The spacecraft is capable of snapping some truly incredible photos of our nearest star, but this particular image has special significance just days away from Halloween.

Microsoft’s new Xbox All Access deal includes a path to upgrade to Project Scarlett
The next-gen Xbox console, called Project Scarlett for the time being, has received as much coverage as the PlayStation 5 lately. Not only did Sony make several PS5 announcements in the past few weeks, but we’ve seen plenty of PS5 leaks, including an actual image of a PS5 prototype for developers.
Microsoft has managed to keep its Xbox Scarlett plans secret so far, aside from the hardware revelations the company itself made several months ago. But the company just unveiled a deal that might make it easier on your wallet to score the Xbox Scarlett about a year from now when it launches.

You’ll never guess what’s hiding in this giant sea blob
If you’ve ever wanted to explore an alien land full of bizarre creatures, diving into Earth’s oceans is about as close as you’re ever going to get. The incredible diversity of wildlife in the oceans means that no two trips below the waves are the same, and as a team of researchers recently discovered, even the most unassuming objects can hold some incredible secrets.
In a video that was recorded by researchers who were diving in the waters off the coast of Norway, a giant, alien-like blob appears. The strange object seems utterly otherworldly, but once the camera gets a bit closer, the blob begins to tell its secrets.

This keychain is an Apple Watch owner’s dream come true, and it’s just $38
If you have an Apple Watch, you undoubtedly love it. Honestly, I couldn’t even imagine being without mine for just a couple of hours at this point. Spotify’s growth rate and engagement have suddenly leapt past Apple Music
Spotify surprised everyone on Monday with an unexpected quarterly profit that accompanied some uncharacteristically bullish remarks from the company about its competitive landscape, with Spotify insisting that the company’s growth rate and engagement have surpassed those of its closest rival: Apple Music.
In terms of hard numbers, the Swedish streamer said it had added some 26 million paying subscribers over the past year to push that number to 113 million at the end of September. It’s hard to put that number in perspective, though, since Apple’s most recent number of Apple Music paying subscribers was 60 million, which the company disclosed in June.

‘Game of Thrones’ creators confirm that they had no clue what they were doing
It was supposed to be a massive accomplishment for HBO and the Game of Thrones team, but season 8 was instead a huge disappointment. For the hundredth time, it wasn’t the final destination that bummed everyone out, but the road that got us there. Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff were heavily criticized for the final six episodes, and the finale is the worst-rated episode in Thrones history.
The scripts were often rushed, forgoing logic and common sense, with D&D choosing to subvert expectations rather than deliver the final season fans wanted. Fans did not forgive them, and they were quick to Google bomb the showrunners — just search for bad writers and see what happens. Others started a petition asking for HBO to remake the final season with better writers, with more than 1,750,000 people having signed it since May.

Smart Battery Case for iPhone 11 leaked thanks to the new iOS 13.2 update
For years, iPhone owners have made it very clear that they wouldn’t mind a slightly thicker device in exchange for prolonged battery life. With the iPhone 11, Apple at long last answered those prayers. The iPhone 11 Pro, for example, lasts a whopping 4 more hours than last year’s iPhone XS. That’s a remarkable achievement that can’t be overstated. The iPhone 11 Pro Max, meanwhile, offers up 5 more hours of battery life than the iPhone XS Max.

Xiaomi’s new smartwatch looks suspiciously like an Apple Watch
We, like other press outlets, have zinged Xiaomi before for its brazen mimicking of Apple, from Xiaomi’s AirDots product earlier this year that resembled Apple’s AirPods to Xiaomi’s Mi 9 smartphone bearing a striking resemblance to the iPhone X as well as Xiaomi’s Memoji knockoff. Meanwhile, it seems the Chinese brand is at it again, this time preparing to announce a new smartwatch next week on November 5.
And in a teaser the company posted today to the Chinese social media platform Weibo, the forthcoming watch looks a lot like — you guessed it — the Apple Watch.
