Apple is expected to again increase the screen size of its smartphones this year with the iPhone 6, which will be available in two flavors including a 4.7-inch model and a 5.5-inch version – comparatively, Apple’s current iPhone models have 4-inch displays, while the older iPhone 4S was the last model to feature a 3.5-inch screen. Frequent fliers who also happen to own various smart devices including smartphones, tablets and laptops should make sure their toys have good-enough battery charges and can be easily turned on during security checks, so agents can play with them, Engadget reports. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said on Sunday in a press release that it requires certain overseas airports with direct flights to the U.S. to check whether electronic devices power on and work as supposed to.

This awesome game breathes new life into Google Maps

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Google launched a mapping game called Smarty Pins this week that has no apparent function except to be a fun way to educate yourself about geography. Basically, the app will ask you a geography-related trivia question and you have to place a pin on the location that you think represents the answer. For example, if you’re asked to find the region of Mexico whose name is synonymous with a famous hot sauce, then you might place the pin on Tabasco, Mexico and see if you are correct.

If you are correct, you don’t lose any of the 1,000 points you start out with. If you are wrong, you lose points based on the number of miles you are from the correct location.

The Nokia Android handset you’ve been waiting for is reportedly coming

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

It took Nokia several years to launch an Android handset of its own, but the company’s Android vision wasn’t exactly what fans were expecting. In early 2014, Nokia announced budget-friendly Android smartphones that weren’t top-of-the-line flagship handsets and didn’t even run an Android OS version filled with all the goodies most Android users have grown to love. Following the Microsoft purchase, Nokia released one more mid-range Android handset, which was in line with its predecessors. However, Microsoft is now rumored to launch a different kind of Android handset in the future, one that will be included in the Lumia family rather than the X family of affordable devices.

Jay Lenos Garage Joey Logano Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Filed under:

Jay Leno has to be under significant pressure knowing the appetite his fans have for a new Jay Leno’s Garage video every week. This time, Jay takes a break from his usual format (something he’s been doing with some frequency as of late) and goes back to his roots as a talk show host. There’s no classic in the garage his episode with an interesting story to tell and a sumptuous exhaust note. Instead, the focus is purely on interviewing 23-year-old NASCAR racer Joey Logano about what it’s like to be a racecar driver in his Ford Fusion.

Logano started racing at the tender age of six and has risen up the circle-track ranks to the big show of the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The two of them talk about what it’s like to compete in the sport today compared to yesteryear, and Logano shares some racing anecdotes. Of course, they also get into what it’s like to be on the racetrack controlling a car with about 850 horsepower, a four-speed manual transmission and brakes without any power boost. Scroll down to watch the video.
