Apple has a surprise iOS 8.1 update in store
Apple has already issued iOS 8.2 betas to developers, with iOS 8.2 expected to be the second major iOS 8 update following the recently released iOS 8.1.2, but the company is apparently also working on an iOS 8.1.3 update that should be released before iOS 8.2 is ready for the masses.

Premiere of Sony’s controversial comedy ‘The Interview’ canceled following threats from hackers
Sony’s The Interview, a comedy in which reporters are hired by the CIA to assassinate the president of North Korea — and which prompted North Korea to react vehemently against it, making it the first suspect behind the recent Sony Pictures hack — will not be showed in several theaters in the U.S. Reuters reports that the New York premiere of the movie has been canceled, following threats from the hackers that hit Sony in late November.

Report claims to reveal when the HTC’s One M8 and M7 will get Lollipop
Even though HTC already announced a rather fast Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7) flagship handsets, only the Google Play edition versions have received it yet. HTC already confirmed that the regular, unlocked and carrier-branded, HTC One versions should get Lollipop no later than 90 days following the official Android 5.0 release, and it looks like TechTastic has learned more details about the actual rollout.

Google integrates Apple’s Touch ID security into its own digital wallet app
One of the main features of the iPhone, especially when it comes to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that can be used for mobile payments in stores, is the Touch ID fingerprint sensor embedded in the Home button, which adds an extra layer of security to Apple’s Apple Pay payments app, but also to other applications.
In iOS 8, Apple has opened Touch ID to third-party developers, with Google apparently being one of the companies looking to take advantage of the feature. The company has updated the iOS version of its Google Wallet payments app, adding Touch ID login support, 9to5Google reports.
