HUGE LEAK: Top Apple insider finally reports some details on the next-gen iPhone 6s
KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, known for his many reports that accurately predict Apple’s undisclosed plans regarding a variety of products including the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, has revealed a bunch of interesting details about the next-gen iPhone. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, or iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, are supposed to launch at some point in September offering several interesting new features — and now we likely have our first real look at what to expect.

Motorola’s next superphone might have an amazing 2K display
Motorola is working on a bunch of new smartphones, a new report suggests. Apparently, the Android smartphone maker might be testing at least three distinct devices that have different screen sizes but share one important feature: killer screen resolution. All models are supposedly packing 2K displays with 2560 x 1440-pixel resolution.

It’s official: Music streaming is killing digital downloads faster than we thought
Even though we don’t need more proof that music streaming is the wave of the future, recent comments made by Warner Music Group CEO Stephen Cooper really underscore just how fast the transition from digital downloads to music streaming is happening.
During an earnings conference call on Monday, Cooper said that Warner Music, the third largest recording company on the planet, generated more money from streaming than they did from digital downloads. That’s no small feat, and as Re/Code notes, this “is the first time a big music label has hit that milestone.”

Verizon moves to corner the coveted dial-up market, will buy AOL for $4.4 billion
“BZZZT… EEE-YOO, EEE-YOO! YOU’VE GOT MAIL!” Those are the sounds that many Internet early adopters haven’t had to listen to for well over a decade now. However, there are still 2.1 million lost souls trapped in AOL dial-up hell and they’re about to become Verizon subscribers. Verizon on Tuesday announced that it plans to buy AOL for $4.4 billion at $50 per share, which represents a 17% premium over its stock price at the close of Monday’s trading.

Google Hangouts encryption doesn’t offer you the privacy protection you thought

American Idol is ending after 15 seasons
After 15 seasons on the air, American Idol is coming to an end. The arguably iconic show originally debuted all the way back in 2002 and helped launch the careers of artists that have since become household names, with Kelly Clarkson and Phillip Phillips being two prominent examples.
Whether you loved or hated the show, or even if you were wholly indifferent, one can’t deny the impact American Idol has had on popular culture. In addition to creating bona fide music stars and pop idols, the show’s success also had a tremendous impact on the broader TV landscape.
