Sorry, you can’t have these affordable high-end Android phones
Even though they get plenty of attention from the press, the newest Android flagships aren’t necessary the best choices for many smartphone buyers, especially for Android fans looking for affordable high-end devices. New Lollipop update released for Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 9 – find the download links right here
Google has begun rolling out the latest version of its Lollipop operating system to a few new Android devices this week, including the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 9 tablet with LTE capabilities. If you own any of these devices, you should be able to download the 5.1.1 update over-the-air in the coming days, but we’ve included direct links below if you’d rather not wait.

Texas blocks direct Tesla sales; Texas pol thinks company is run by ‘Mr. Tesla’
Despite Tesla’s best efforts, the Texas legislature this week opted not to pass a bill which would have allowed the electric automaker to sell cars directly to consumers. Instead, if Tesla wants to sell its highly revered vehciles in the lone star state, it looks like it’s going to have to do it through local franchise dealers, something the company has no intention of doing.

This iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 battery pack solves the one charging issue that matters most
The most annoying problem smartphone users have to deal with is battery life. Regardless of whether they prefer the iPhone 6 or Galaxy S6, chances are buyers will worry about running out of battery in certain instances, and they’ll seek external battery packs to make sure they’re covered during busier days.
All these battery packs have one problem that’s not immediately clear to the buyer though, and one a new Kickstarter project aims to fix it.

The Federal Communications Commission surprised us all earlier this year when it put forth new net neutrality guidelines that were hugely pro-consumer. Yes, there may be a loophole or two. And yes, some internet service providers are already looking for different ways to hurt subscribers that don’t violate net neutrality. In the current climate, however, we’re not sure a more favorable set of rules could have been crafted by the FCC and its former cable lobbyist boss, Tom Wheeler.
Of course, creating better net neutrality guidelines is one thing — but policing ISPs and ensuring they adhere to the new rules is an entirely different can of worms.

Beloved Apple developer writes an absolutely scathing review of Apple’s newest MacBook
Instapaper Marco Arment is a very influential iOS and Mac developer who has long sung the praises of many Apple products. However, he’s also not afraid to let Apple absolutely have it when he thinks they’ve delivered a subpar effort and that’s exactly what he thinks they’ve done with the new 2015 MacBook. In a scathing review published on his blog, Arment rips into Apple for the design choices it made with the new laptop and he even expresses concern about whether the company has run out of ideas for improving its computers other than making them thinner.

Amazing! 10 photos of the stunning $300M Silicon Valley HQ Samsung is set to open this year
Back in 2013, we told you about an incredible new facility Samsung planned to build in Silicon Valley. Just a stone’s throw from Apple’s current home in Cupertino, California, Samsung’s San Jose Campus is a $300 million project that will house two main U.S.-based teams: Samsung’s research and development division, and its sales unit.
Well-known architecture planning and design firm NBBJ was contracted to design and help manage the project, and the company has just provided BGR with some stunning photos of the facility’s progress.
