Many people from the Southern United States sincerely believe the Civil War-era Confederate Flag is a symbol of Southern heritage and not of racism. However, many of those people probably aren’t aware that South Carolina in particular didn’t actually start flying the Confederate Flag outside its State House until 1962, when it was intended to be a direct rebuke to the Civil Rights movement. This is why to many more people the flag is a symbol of a desire to keep racial minorities as permanent second-class citizens.

In just over a week, we’ll be halfway through 2015. It’s a terrifying thought, but thankfully Netflix is dumping a wide selection of movies and shows on its service to distract us from the unstoppable march of time. Some of the highlights this month include Changeling, Grandma’s Boy and Creep.

The biggest barrier for cord cutters today remains the same as it was a month ago and a year ago: live TV. Eliminating your standard pay TV subscription means relying on on-demand services such as Netflix and Hulu, which are both fantastic solutions for streaming TV shows and movies. But with only a few exceptions such as HBO Now and WatchESPN that are only available to a limited number of people who subscribe to certain services, cord cutters cannot watch most live broadcasts.

Now, however, there’s a pirate TV service that aims to change that — and as of Monday, it’s home to well over 500 channels of free streaming content.

My Jaw Dropped When I Realized How Powerful Taylor Swift is

Holy crap. I had expected Apple at some point to reverse course and start paying artists during the company’s three-month trial period for Apple Music, but not this quickly and not in response to a Taylor Swift Tumblr post. To recap: Just hours after Swift published a scathing criticism of Apple’s decision to offer users a three-month free trial period for Apple Music without compensating artists during that time, Apple’s Eddy Cue took to Twitter to announce that Apple will reverse course and pay royalties for songs that customers stream during their trial period. Holy crap.
