As we discussed yesterday, Deadpool and X-Men: Apocalypse received a ton of buzz at Comic-Con over the weekend, but there are four red-headed stepchildren of the Marvel family that everyone seems to be cautiously pessimistic about.

20th Century Fox is rebooting the oft-maligned Fantastic Four series with an entirely new cast and a new storyline, but with just a few weeks before the film’s release, no one seems to be talking about the Fantastic Four.

Maybe the Comic-Con trailer will change that.

Deep dive: ‘True Detective’ season 2 is a flat circle

In the first season of True Detective, the hook was instantaneous.

You put Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in front of a brutal, ritualistic murder scene and you’ve got yourself an audience — it’s as simple as that. True Detective was so unexpected and so in tune with its viewers that even its frequent stumbles weren’t enough to pull (most of) us out of its universe.

I was going to solve the mystery, regardless of the path HBO and creator Nic Pizzolatto wanted to take me down.

If you don’t want to give your photos to Google anymore, it’ll steal them

Google’s new Google Photos app has a bunch of new features users may appreciate, including automatic categorization and unlimited storage and backup, but the service is far from perfect. On top of the odd software issues you may encounter with face recognition or upload limits, there’s also a more annoying problem you should be aware of: Google Photos keeps uploading pictures to Google’s servers even after if you uninstall the app from your Android phone.
