Surface Pro 4, Band 2 and new Lumia phones set to debut at Microsoft’s huge October event
It appears that Apple isn’t the only technology company hosting a massive hardware launch event this fall. On Thursday, Chinese Windows blog WPDang revealed that Microsoft will hold a press conference in October during which the company will announce its upcoming slate of devices, including the Surface Pro 4, the Band 2 and two new Lumia phones.

How much an iPhone costs across the world
When Apple announced its earnings report this past July, the company revealed that its cash on hand, for the first time in history, had surpassed $200 billion. Not surprisingly, Apple’s impressive cash hoard is largely attributable to eight years’ worth of iPhone sales.
Though consumers tend to pay in the $200 range for a new iPhone, Apple actually sells it to carriers for more than three times as much. Indeed, the average selling price for iPhone price during Apple’s most recent quarter checked in at $660.

It begins: Movie studio sues individual Popcorn Time users for infringement
Often described as “Netflix for pirates,” Popcorn Time users are now being targeted for infringement. Originally reported by TorrentFreak, the makers of a film called The Cobbler recently initiated a lawsuit against 11 Popcorn Time users in Oregon for copying and distributing the aforementioned film without authorization. The Cobbler, in case you’re unfamiliar, stars Adam Sandler and was released in early 2015 to tepid reviews.
Though no individual names are mentioned in the suit, the makers of the film list out the 11 John and Jane Does by their IP address alongside their ISP (in this case Comcast Cable) and the date and time they accessed the movie.

India’s Mars orbiter captures beautiful 3D images of the red planet
The Indian Space Research Organisation has released a series of beautiful images taken by the country’s Mangalyaan Mars Orbiter. The images reveal striking details of the Ophir Chasma, a canyon that spans about 186 miles of the planet’s surface.
The orbiter marks India’s first interplanetary space venture.
