Spotify fixes controversial privacy policy with language you can understand – here’s what you need to know
Two weeks ago, Spotify updated its privacy policy with language that ignited a wave of backlash from faithful users, as the company almost suggested it’ll collect even more data about you and use it for different purposes, some related to new Spotify features and others potentially related to advertising. The company, via its CEO, immediately explained that it’ll get that data only if you agree to hand it over, putting to rest the privacy-related concerns.
However, Spotify made new changes to its privacy policy, further clarifying the language.

Google finally starts fixing Chrome’s memory-hogging, battery-killing features
It may be one of the best Internet browsers you can get your hands on, but it can also be pretty annoying, especially when it comes to energy efficiency. Google, however, got the message, and it started fixing the Chrome browser, releasing a version that’s supposed to offer you a “faster and more efficient web.”

If there’s one surefire way to drum up interest in a movie or documentary, try using the court system to have the entire project scrapped. In an obvious lesson that many companies are still learning the hard way, most efforts to prevent a film from being seen will only serve to increase awareness and overall viewership down the line.
So it goes with BBC’s Grand Theft Auto docudrama dubbed The Gamechangers. Starring Daniel Radcliffe as Rockstar Games president Sam Houser, The Gamechangers chronicles development studio’s battles with the litigious (and since disbarred) Jack Thompson over video game violence.

Jeb Bush has already annoyed Stephen Colbert ahead of their ‘Late Show’ interview
The last thing I’d want to do before appearing on the debut episode of a talk show is make the host angry with me, but that’s exactly what Jeb Bush did this week when he announced a contest to fly one lucky campaign contributor out to New York to see The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Sounds reasonable enough — so why is Stephen Colbert unhappy?
Bush never consulted him about the contest.

Popular Belkin Wi-Fi router has numerous security holes
Led by Joel Land, security researchers from Carnegie Mellon University’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) recently discovered that a popular Belkin router contains a number of serious security vulnerabilities that can leave users exposed to a wide variety of attacks.
According to a CERT vulnerability report published earlier this week, the Belkin N600 DB Wireless Dual Band N+ router, model F9K1102 v2 with firmware version 2.10.17 is vulnerable to a number of harrowing exploits. Speaking to the device’s popularity, the router in question is the first product listed when one searches for a “Belkin Router” on Amazon.

Apple admits ‘there’s a lot of work to be done’ when it comes to Apple Music
Apple is thankfully not turning a deaf ear to the myriad of complaints users have expressed thus far about Apple Music, the company’s nascent music streaming service. In an interview with The Guardian, iTunes VP Oliver Schusser said that the company is working hard to address a number of usability and performance issues before bringing the music service to Android.

US special ops clinches deal for cutting-edge ATVs
Who doesn’t love an all-terrain vehicle? U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) is no exception.
Last week Medina, Minn.-based Polaris Defense announced that it is supplying the U.S. military with more all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).
The company has been supplying its MRZR ATVs to SOCOM for three years – and now special forces are getting their hands on even more.
The new order is for MRZR 2 and MRZR 4s. The MRZR2 is an ideal variant to carry two operators and the MRZR 4 can carry four, or even six, depending on the configuration.

Screen Rant has put together a terrific video that looks at all the subtle ways Tarantino’s movies are connected to one another, starting with the fact that Pulp Fiction character Vincent Vega is actually the brother of Reservoir Dogs character Mr. Blonde, the alias of a man named Vic Vega.

The iPhone 6 keeps winning Android converts, even with the iPhone 6s just a week away
Anyone who keeps an eye on the smartphone industry is aware of the iPhone’s dominance, but the latest comScore report shows that Apple’s market share has continued to grow throughout 2015. According to the data, Apple’s percentage of the U.S. smartphone market grew from 43.1% to 44.2% between April and July of this year.

One of Google Maps’ most beloved features gets an entirely separate app of its own
Google just released a brand “new” app for Android devices that should further improve your navigation and directions Google Maps experience. The feature is hardly new, though, and you’ve been using it all this time on both mobile and desktop — the difference is that Google has now turned it into a standalone application that’s already available for download from the Play Store.
